This is not a probability of success.

Anyone here that can look at a Turbo in Fort Lauderdale? I've spent hundreds for 3 PPIs and in 2 cases if I would have had a walk around look by someone a bit familiar with Porsches it could have saved me a ton of time and money.
Looking at a TT Cab
Thanks, Nick
You may have already talked to him, but for my money there is no one better on water-cooled Porsche PPIs in FLA than Pedro Bonilla.

Wow, I would definitely use this service. I'm surprised that I haven't seen his name before on this site.
Thanks for sharing and good luck to the OP on this thread.
You just replied to my email this morning. I'll be in touch in the spring. Glad to know you are around and much thanks to Zurichgnome for posting the link to your service.

Do you do walk around inspections? A quick look over to determine the general condition appearance wise of the paint, wheels, tires, glass, exposed exterior rubber and plastic components. Cab top, headlights and tail lights, and maybe a quick glance underneath (on your knees)?
I've owned several P cars and I can generally tell within 5 minutes and certainly less than 10 if a car is worth pursuing to me. There are plenty of tell tale signs that suggest what kind of care the car has had, if the alignment is good, the interior has been maintained, the paint kept up, any minor scrapes, door dings, curbed wheels, sun damage, etc. If there are lots of cosmetic related issues, I don't care how it drives, of if the engine has a rod knock, or what is stored in the DME.
To me a walk around would be the first step in whether or not to continue with a more technical inspection. Hard to do when you're 2 thousand miles away, and the sellers are clueless. Last guy said his 45k mile TT is in wonderful and near mint condition, rear seats have never been sat in. PPI tech said he's never seen the interior of a TT that dirty , worn or neglected and looks like a 150k mile car.

Go to Pedro's web page (linked above) and see the comprehensive sample report. You'll see over 50 hi res photos of exterior, interior and under carriage. He also test drives the car and provides his recommendation based on years of experience. It's the closest thing to actually being there in person. I am very impressed.
The problem is that a simple walk-around inspection is not feasible for me.
By the time I get to where the car is and later return I'll probably waste 2 hours.
So I have to do a comprehensive inspection in order to cover my time.
Now, if you bring the car to me, I can do however much or however little you want.
Happy Porsche-ing,
Pedro
