Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

49 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

SOLD Time has come to sell the 996! This car has the following specs: 2002 996 C2 Seal Gray/Black - ~90k miles. It has the full leather interior and full power package for both seats (which are heated), Bose stereo with FM/Tape deck and CD changer in trunk, MY02 wheels recently stripped and powdercoated, B&M short shift kit, painted center console to match exterior, no accident history however I have painted front (normal chips) and rear (scrape from prior owner) bumpers for cosmetic reasons only, brand new (under 3000 miles) on fabspeed x-cats, mufflers, and dual outlet tips, transmission fluid changed, new clutch as of 25k miles ago, and brand new rebuilt motor with 11 months or 10k miles remaining. New rotors and pads all around as of 8k miles ago. Will come with fresh brake fluid flush as well. Additionally, added high grip black anodized pedals that are very high quality. I am asking $26,500. PPI is welcome. Update: New rear tires and all 6 coils brand new. This car is ready to drive!

POST 3Original post

Wow you just got the new motor! This will be a good deal for those worried about engine issues. Getting another P-car?

Yes, I will be close. However, if at all possible, my next Porsche will not even have an intermediate shaft.

POST 11Original post

Nice car. Just like my first 996., but with a price like my second 996. With the new motor and all this is a *great* deal for someone. I absolutely would buy this car, if I didn't have a fine one already . Good luck.

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 7436983

Yes... and a Euro bumper. I'm going to cry a river when she sells. That car is fine fine fine. And fast fast fast.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well - that is a nice car. However my plan is to get into that track car at some point next year not right away. I am getting married and want to downsize a little for the time being. My track car purchase will coincide with truck and trailer and not ready for that yet! However, if you are looking for a nice daily my car has a new lease on life with brand new motor and ev everything else either new or very serviceable for many many miles.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update: New rear tires and all 6 coils brand new. This car is ready to drive!

POST 17Original post

one question, why was the motor rebuilt ? what was the problem before ?

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Happy to talk to you offline if you want and are interested in the car - i am not turning this into a motor discussion. Present motor has about 1700 miles and warrantied until March of next year.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

bump - Happy Easter Jeff and pissedpuppy - do you mind deleting your posts? Do not want to confuse anyone in my thread about the price of my car which is $27,500.

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did I mention that this has the full leather and really makes a huge difference in the interior. Maintained with Lexol at least 3 times a year and smells wonderful inside.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Marc as usual you rock. New 85 month battery installed yesterday.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have reduced to $26,500. I will keep it if it does not sell at this price. Just invested $15,000.

POST 25Original post

that's SO much car for the money - always good to see good stewards selling their 911s. good luck with the sale.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Rok! With the new motor and full exhaust and all the options including full leather this car will definitely be missed. My fiance is begging me to keep it.

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

better interior pics per request

POST 29Original post

Wow, what a great looking interior...where are the buyers, this is a great dael?

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 7483814

I know, if i was in the market I would snap that car right up!

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 7483824

same here. The only thing better than having one porsche in the garage is two porsches in the garage.

POST 32Original post

Quotes source post: 7483852

Cant argue with that... 3 would be nice!

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 7483869

Hell, ONE would be nice!!!!!! Don't ask me how I know!!!!

POST 34Original post

Bill... wish you were closer. I dont need to be looking at that right now, but if i did, it would be all over...

POST 35Original post

I just need a "practical" commuter car right now...

POST 36Original post

Thats damn nice and cheap also, I'd be all over it if I hadn't just got the new engine in my targa, same color , nice choice.

POST 37Original post

this is a steal.... someone ****** this up! Keep it in the community!

POST 38Original post

BILL NICE CAR AND GOOD LUCK!BUT ARE YOU SURE ITS FULL LEATHER INTERIOR?I THOUGHT THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG AND DOOR PANELS WOULD BE LEATHER ALSO,JUST CURIOUS,MAYBE I COULDNT TELL FROM THE PICS.

POST 39Original post

Quotes source post: 7515718

The dash and door panels have the stitching so they appear to be leather.

POST 40 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update for everyone. Yes it is full leather. And YES it is SOLD! Will be picked within the next two days and delivered to the new owner.

POST 41Original post

Excellent! Congats on the sale Bill! about time someone snapped that up.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 7515758

Correct, that is a full leather interior. The airbag is NOT part of the full leather package. To the OP....Congrats on the sale!

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dell and all and thanks Rennlist! The buyer saw the car here.

POST 45 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nothing for now - thinking either a 964 street-legal track car or a -6 GT3. This was a great car for a few years though and good memories!

POST 46Original post

Bill....excellent choices. Raced my RS America and tracked my GT3 about as hard I could. Both a blast on track If I had to pick one for pulling double duty though it would be that GT3 hands down.

POST 48Original post

Nice going on the sale of your Porsche. Let us know what you replace it with next.

POST 49Original post

Congrats on the sale....someone is getting a great car at a great price.
