Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

I'll maybe partake in the pay to be a junkie once I finally get around to using my newer computer online.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

With a lot of Newbies floating around here, we are getting a lot of new screen names. I have always felt I connected better with the guys when I knew their first name.
With that in mind, I am suggesting that each of us put our First Name in the sig area. Obviously, this would be totally voluntary.
What prompted this is one of the Newbies
eggodynamic
just posted pics of his car. I replied and called him Eggman and I will probably always call him Eggman unless I know his first name.
The other thing that prompted this is I am dying to find out the real first name of the person that has the screen name Marc Gelefsky! What kind of mind would make up a screen name like that????
<Tim thinks to himself> Self, what if that screen name is his REAL name??? If it is, you are in deep shet!!!
Damn Newbies!!! They are gonna be the death of me yet!
OK, at the top left of the screen in the gray bar, click on
User CP
(User Control Panel)
On the next screen there is a Menu on the left ofthe screen. Click on
Edit Signature
.
Type in your first name and Save.
It's so easy, even a Newbie can do it!
this is working well... so we have Eggman and Pac and Tim who doesnt know where to edit the sig
Private messages - far left - scroll down to "edit signature"
make sure you click "remember me" when logging in and save the sig when done...
BTW .... my name is MUD and remember MUD spelled backwards.............
Signatures are for guys that browse the internet with computers that haven't experienced chinese made afghan and other eastern software. Users and abusers don't get that luxury of signatures. I'll maybe partake in the pay to be a junkie once I finally get around to using my newer computer online.
No guy with a Honder can tell me to include my name....unless he can show me and all the new members what his last car(yes, a Porsche) looked like after he added flames and a rather large, robust female on top of it. That's the deal.
hmmmm - I am sure you can be a user and edit it -
when you "log in" do you click "remember me" ?
ask Marc... he's our forum leader with the mad computer skills
Hmm, I thought I'd seen it before, but like the others, it defiantly aint there now? And Yup Ed "remember me" was ticked... even logged out/in JIC. I'm sure it'll be a setting the admins can toggle?
Anyways it's WAY too late round here... I'm off, Goodnight. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
My name isnt really Kyle. But it allows people to feel more in touch. Thats what we were going to name out little boy that came out missing the parts he needed to be a boy
This thread is testament as to how reliable these cars really are. Not even an IMS failure or a leaky seal to mull over. (knock on wood) I feel like the Maytag repairman. -Doug
Who the hell came up with this idea?????
Oh wait, now I remember...... this was actually an idea to drum up more paying Members. Yeah, that's what it was meant to do..... well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Sorry guys, I knew you had to be a Member to have a sig pic, but I though you could have a sig as a User.
Steve, if you don't put your name in your sig as you promised, I will send her to your place of work and make sure everyone there knows that she is there to have lunch with YOU and I'll make sure she wears a short skirt, too!
I was good?
I guess all the time in the garage is paying off SOMEWHERE
boy the wife made a bit of a stink about it..... I explained it was "important" and she let me off the hook....its gonna cost me in the end though, i am sure
OK, I am out in the open too....
Also edited my sig to show my current / past P-cars.
No, the 959 in my avatar is NOT mine....but does anybody recognize it?
I don't sign in over the weekend, and find this?!?
FYI, I'm exempting myself from this sig requirement on the grounds that it would be duplicative with my user name...
I can understand that. If there is another Member with the first name of Van, then we will have to call you "Van Van" to identify you and not the other Member.
NO, he's taking his 7 day "test," remember?
I am beginning to wonder if he made a bet with his wife that he could stay off RL for a week. I wonder what the "wager" is. I hope it is something he will REALLY enjoy!
the thing is.... when he comes back, he's gonna post 2x as much. Classic case of denial.
Nonetheless, 7K post in less than 2 years is utterly impressive!
Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Mr. Skinner was trying to hise the identity of Lisa by first saying the snitch was L. Simpson.....wait, that's not good enough.....Lisa S......
