Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm planning to call my shop to schedule time to get it in next week (I need to replace the starter anyway), but I was hoping for some help on what could cause this shaking feeling.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Over the past few days I noticed a strange shaking with my car. At first I thought it might be something with the wheels, like a weight fell off. However, this morning I also noticed the shaking while sitting stopped at a red light. I'm not sure how to describe it better, but it's like something is off balance and the car shakes like there were very high winds.
I still notice this while driving as well. Also, last weekend I drove to and from MD from CT, and the clutch started feeling a little different. It could be completely mental, but it felt as though when engaging the clutch (coming up from the floor) it was pushing back with more force than normal. It also felt like the car wasnt sticking as well as it should around turns. I'm still on my winter tires, but they have been fine. I plan to put the summer wheels/tires back on this or next weekend.
I wish I could describe it better, and I'm not sure if anything is related. I have no idea what could be causing this. I'm planning to call my shop to schedule time to get it in next week (I need to replace the starter anyway), but I was hoping for some help on what could cause this shaking feeling.
That was my first thought. It was only really today that I noticed it at idle, but that's not to say it didn't do it before. Are motor mounts a common problem? The car's an 02 with only ~55k miles.
996 motor mounts are fluid filled. If one leaked (it happens occasionally) it would allow the engine to move more then normal. You would notice it more when you are starting from a dead stop. Look at the rear of the car and see if one of the tailpipes is a lower then the other. You can also look under the car near the mounts to see if there is an "oil" stain under one of the mounts.
Sounds like it might be another Turbo Encabulator gone bad

You are going to need a Retro-Encabulator to reset it.

Haha thanks for some of the funny comments.
It's been great all weekend, so maybe it was just the crazy winds we were having. I didn't really notice them, but I'm sure certain roads and intersections probably allowed for them to hit harder than other areas.
On a positive note, I finally got the summer tires back on yesterday. Winter tires and 90 degree weather are really boring
