The calipers and inside of the wheels look VERY clean on the silver one, but they could have just cleaned the wheels when they put tires on it.

The front were at about 50%, but just replacing the back tires with a different brand and type would look bad.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's a 2000 aero coupe, silver with....uh....how do I say this.....unattractive....painted wheels. http://www.dittocars.com/web/1172/ve...upe-Lebanon-OH OR, is anyone near it to take a look?

POST 2Original post

Shame you missed out on Andy's. But this one looks pretty nice. Maybe one of the Cincinnati guys can look at it for you? Off topic: This is the second aero car I've seen recently (the other being peavynation's) without the gurney flap on the spoiler. What's with that?

POST 3Original post

Just so you are aware the Aero looks to be aftermarket, rear wing looks wrong and does not have the 'gurney lip" Side skirts are MkII style.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the aftermarket wings don't have the gurney flap I think. I could live with that, but I couldn't live with those wheels. It also looks like B&B exhaust tips. I was a little late on Andy's but was ready to go get it......which leads me to: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...acktype=usedcc it's a 01 red aero. I'm not neccessarily looking for red, but I like the aero cars best.

POST 5Original post

Red one is better optioned, lower mileage and effectively the same money. ...plus I swear the owner of the Red one is on Rennlist I just can't come up wih the username off the top of my head. Suprised it's not advertised here.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, this guy Andy wouldn't sell me his...... The red one's owner used to have an M3 (according to google). It is quite a ways away, but now's a good time for a road trip in a new car, plus I've never been to MN. I think the red one might be a better choice out of those two since it looks all original (for now). Unless someone knows of a better one in that price and year range.

POST 7Original post

I think the red one looks better optioned... the silver looks really clean though - same money, I would get the red one my .02

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like the black interior better on the red one . The 3-spoke wheel and litronics seem like the only options it has over the silver one. The calipers and inside of the wheels look VERY clean on the silver one, but they could have just cleaned the wheels when they put tires on it. I'd have to spend $1K-2K right off the bat getting rid of those black wheels. I don't really like tinted windows either. I could live with the turbo wheels a while. I could put that "wheel" money towards some springs or coil overs. I e-mailed the guy and will call tomorrow or tonight, because I know if you snooze, you lose.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

or how about this one: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...acktype=usedcc

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, if the PPI goes well tomorrow the red one is the one. It sounds like it has been kept up well and the owner has his records and the previous owner's records as well. I'm looking forward to the 1,300+ mile drive home.

POST 13Original post

Good luck Mark, If you drive back through Ohio let me know and I'll buy you a beer...or root beer would be more appropriate since you'll be driving. Andy

POST 14Original post

The red factory aero looks to be a decent deal, less miles,OEM body parts and a great reason to take a road trip in your new Porsche! Hope your PPI tells the story. GL

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 7021990

I'd gladly buy a round as well

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the invites....I'm picking it up Wednesday. Sadly, I'm not passing through Ohio, but I am going to try to take some curvy roads through Kentucky, TN, and AL. The PPI on the red one in MN looked good other than a few small things. I am having new Michelins shipped there to be put on before I leave as the rear tires were pretty worn and a discontinued bridgestone. The front were at about 50%, but just replacing the back tires with a different brand and type would look bad. Also, if I'm going on a road trip with my new car I wanted it to ride right. I'll post some pics when i get it home and cleaned up from the trip.......the 2 day long trip.
