This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

255/40-17 appear in short supply here and I am thinking of 245/40-17 for my new (old) '99 C4. The circumference difference is only 1.3% so this should be okay, but I want to make sure that i do not create any issues with the AWD system. Fronts will be 205/50-17. Can someone please advise? Thanks

POST 2Original post

That's a mismatch. 245/40-17s would work with 205/50-17s (only off by 1.4%), but 205/55-17s are too tall in front (off by 4.7%). You could use 245/45-17s with 205/55-17s. Kinda big all around, but that shouldn't be a problem in winter.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Sorry a typo - should have been 205/50-17 in front.
