their magic 8ball is screwed up and they're too stupid to get it right even hours before they say the event is due to start.

Unless a Tuner broke into my car and installed a super charger on it last night, you are overstating the HP by about 35%.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I also tried making a snow *****, but that didn't work either.
Thanks Ferdinand... looks like the meeting point is 1h 50mins from here... Sunday is looking to be clear, but 39F... hopefully it will look a little warmer closer to the time, as that's right on the edge for my summer tires to be comfortable. I should be able to make a decision by Thursday once the weather becomes a little more certain.
yeah, if we're in for a good drive I'd like to be sure that my tires will perform... I wouldn't feel safe pushing it on the temperature borderline.
The good news is that tomorrow and thursday will nice, so I'll have the car out for the next couple of days.
You know, it did occur to me to hassle him to come along, but I honestly can't imagine him willingly putting 200+miles on his car in one day... we can try working on him.
FYI:
STATE POLICE - NJ TICKETING
Here's the latest NJ State Police Initiative (Radio Station 101.5 FM
confirmed this info).
Starting today (2/19/09), New Jersey will launch 30-day speeding ticket
frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in
speeding tickets. One million dollars will go to pay state troopers
over-time.
There will be 50 state troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 9
main intersections and highways as follows:
I-295 North and South,
I-95 JerseyTurnpike North and South
I-80 East and West
I-287 North and South
I-78 East and West
I-195 East and West
I-280 East and West
Route 130 - North and South
Garden State Parkway - North and South
5 MPH above the limit can justify a ticket and every state
Trooper is supposed to pull a car over and
Write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes.
They have issued 30 brand new unmarked CrownVictoriacruisers and are
bringing in all of their part-timers on full time. If you work
In NJ, NY, DE or CT, you will probably be on one of these highways. So,
please be on guard and drive safely!
Starting August 15, the price of a violation to show your
Driver's license, registration or insurance card at the time you are
stopped, increased from $44.00 to $173.00. (Keep these documents in your
car). And the fine for not having all three documents is $519.00!
The fine for hand-held cell phone use while driving will be going up to
$180.00.
Please forward this to people in N.J. and let them know of this latest
Police Initiative.

...you get the idea, I don't have to post one from each state.
True dat. But last week I saw a State Police 3 car speed trap on the Turnpike. 1 trooper on an overpass with a laser picking off cars below, and 2 chase cars on the shoulder of the lanes below. So be careful out there.
Just came back in from the first drive since november, but don't think the weather's going to hold for tomorrow, supposed to start coming down after midnight
Its the harness and seat belt buckle. My light is on too. I have a few sets because I couldn't find it from my original sunset order. I bought extra. Let me know if you want it.
part numbers:
harness 000-043-206-06 - have 4 sets
seat belt 996-803-183-10 - sorry only two
you have extras of these??
with they fix the "airbag light on" PM details I will take one!!! (hate that light, but the little black sticker was cheap and easy
)
Today wasn't as bad as it could have been, but it was snowing heavily here when I got up this morning, so that would have stopped me heading North.
I just went to work to grab some paperwork so that I can work at home tomorrow... the latest forecast (guess!) is that they're saying we should get around 14" of snow... I'll believe it when I see it and I'll be amazed if we get more than 5", but it doesn't hurt to be ready. I even moved the snowblower from the garden shed into the garage just in case I need to use it for the first time this season.
Nope. I fired it up in November to check that all was well, then haven't even bothered to put fuel in it. The snow we've had to date wasn't worth the hassle to get it out.
To be honest the snow we've had so far this year has been pretty feeble - a few storms of a couple of inches each time - hardly worth the effort of getting the thing out. When it comes to a couple of inches of snow it's easier and faster to use a snow shovel to clear the driveway.
Yeah, have not even botherd with the snow blower with what we have gotten this year, 5 minutes with a shovel and Im good
BUT, this may be the big one ' Lisbeth!!!
Well, I'm hoping for a good storm, but last time I looked outside it hadn't even started snowing yet... I find it hard to believe that we're going to get 14" dumped on us by lunchtime when it hasn't started yet.
I'm willing to bet that it will be more in the range of 3-5" at most.
Just started here, the claim 8++ inches.
I hope not, I have an apointment in NYC in the morning and I plan to drive in and a nice dinner planned at Quality meats!
...nope, still nothing here. Interesting that we're further south and it hasn't hit yet.
I went in to work to grab some extra work just in case... at least it allows me thee freedom to stay home and sit it out on the remote chance that they do get it right. The weather guys here were saying that the snow should have started at least 3 hours ago and that we would have heavy snow through tomorrow lunchtime.
Those guys crack me up.... their magic 8ball is screwed up and they're too stupid to get it right even hours before they say the event is due to start.
I think that you'll make your meeting.
Ed,
You need to find someone who has a durametric tool and run a diagnostic on your car. Find out which set of seat belt and harness wiring is causing the fault.
Call up Sunset and order the parts per my part numbers. You have to replace the seatbelt wiring harness and the recepticles. After that, you need the durametric to turn the airbag light off. Normal OBDII diagnostic tool will not be able to turn it off.
Marc,
After checking my pcar parts bin, I only have 2 extra harnesses and no extra seat belt recepticles. I would be happy to send it to you as per Sunset cost. Will attach my invoice with it.
I'm guessing that we're around the same amount. It's still snowing pretty hard, so I'm not going out there until it slows down this afternoon... I'll probably use the snowblower rather than a shovel for this one.
That's still too cold.
We had about 85* yesterday, washed the p-car, and took the kids to the lake in said p-car with sunroof open.
Well, it's going to rain today here, so much for the car wash.
Have fun with your snowmen, fellas!
Yup, it's still coming down at a good pace here. The snow is heavy and showing no signs of slowing.
This is a definite snow blower day.
Tim, we might have snow today and it might be cold, but there is no substitute for living in TX without a 996.
yup, just finished clearing mine also... thankfully it was nice and light, so it was easy work, but made lousy snowballs and couldn't make a snowman for my son.
I also tried making a snow *****, but that didn't work either.

Damn, it is true.... what goes around, comes around!
Again....OUCH!!!
You guys are brutal!
What did I do to deserve this kind of treatment? Wait, don't answer that, you'll overload the server.
The first time my wife rode in the car, when we took off from a light, I looked over at her and said "Oh sorry! I didn't mean to throw your head back into the head rest like that!" Her reply was, "I still can't believe you bought a 4-cylinder car!"
Hell, even my wife was disrespecting my car!
