Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

996 nightmare - I bought my car about 3 months ago and its has been in the shop off and on for minor things like overflow tak and MAF. Yesterday while driving I notice burning oil...I stop the car and notice oil leaking heavily from the engine. Not sure what it is but probably from the valves. Could it be an oil line?

POST 2Original post

Going to have to post some photos or give more details as to where the oil is coming from..... Kind of like me saying: Blood smell and blood all over the floor, what can it be? "Lots of things"..... -Eli

POST 3Original post

Left hand side, rear, right above wheel - possible oil seperator?

POST 4Original post

Where you park he car, did you notice any oil spots before this happened. Like Eli says pics would tell a lot... Jim

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found the cause of the oil. It was a freeze plug under the right rocker arm cover. It just unhinged and started to dump oil while the car was running. Fastened the fpug with locktite and drove to AJ-USA. Tappets need adjusting after whole ordeal.
