Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 01 996 C2 tip with 65K had a slow transmission leak, it started really leaking, not a few drops but a small stream was pumping out. I took it to my local indy. The torque converter has a small crack that is leaking pretty bad. I was able to see it and feel the crack with my fingernail. Sunset quoted me 1,200 for a new one. None are in the country and it needs to come from Germany, 2-5 weeks!! No one I talk to has heard of one going bad, my luck. They checked the RMS and it looks great. I wonder if I should have them replace it anyways with the new and improved one or just leave it alone since it's not leaking. Anyone know where to get a torque converter and is a used one an option. Thanks for you help.
