Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

just installed my new design for the 2011 PCA Club Racing season.
Leading evidence: 'Install design' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'more and more folks will go' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install design' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

A lot has changed about the car since, but other than paint, the cage remains the same.

It is a stock bumper, still looking for a good used GT3 nose.

Suspected cause
It's pretty effective, but I suspect more and more folks will go with an accusump.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
41 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I have a 3qtr accusump intalled, so far it has worked
Matters not. They'll have to catch you to measure it.
Take these pix today? Car looks really good. Prob' faster that Bell's too without all that plastic wrap!
The SPEC 996 suspension can be stock, PSS9s if raced prior to 2011 or the JRZ SPEC 996 package. I replaced my PSS9s for the JRZ package. The PSS9's are a fine street/track set up, but the JRZ package is a much better racing set up. The car with driver is very close to the class weight of 3040, so the car w/o me is near 2800lbs.
LOL @ lead
so thats an interesting thought... on airplains a paint job can weigh a significant amount.. anyone ever remove paint in an attempt to be light....
seriously, that is awesome looking.... i would love to go a few laps with you
It is a great ride with David at the wheel. The dude can drive. These Spec996 cars are flat out fast. After all, they to go 11...
Nice looking car David.
TRT41, can you tell me what is that lip under your front bumper ? it looks like the base C2 bumper right ?
Considering the huge wing you have in the back, I am surprised you don't have a gt3 front bumper (if I see correctly).
The car looks excellent. Thanks for sharing.
What mods do you, and other Spec 996 builders, do to alleviate possible oil starvation issues?
Best of luck to you this season.
The cage is a cup car replica, built by Topp Racing located at MSR-Cresson. it cost just cover 3k. What would you like to see in the interior? I can take more photos, just let me know what you would like to see.
It is a stock bumper, still looking for a good used GT3 nose. It has a GT3 front spoiler. I just installed the front and rear wing, I'll test next weekend at Eagles Canyon and get some data to compare vs the stock set up. I staggered the install of the JRZ SPEC 996 suspension and wing to get some data on the individual improvements.
I have a 3qtr accusump intalled, so far it has worked
The major mods are for safety, and to the suspension (GT3 parts with the JRZ SPEC 996 suspension). We have a very good start to the SPEC 996 class in Texas, with 5 or 6 cars ready to race today and a few in the planning stages. The PCA website has the SPEC 996 rules posted within the 2011 rules.

see page 25 and on.
I think with the 996 platform we'll have one of the fastest growing classes in PCA Club Racing, since the are fast, safe, affordable and a blast to drive. Come join us at the track!
Well I'm wanting to turn my 996 into a track car...and just need some ideas for the interior/center console what to do in place of the door panels etc...

X51 oilpan is what most people do first. It's pretty effective, but I suspect more and more folks will go with an accusump. I don't have one yet, but I'm planning to put one in.

Here are some interior shots. My 2cents, think about where you are going with the track car (DE, or Club Racing). Start with safety mods first, always. Then reliabilty mods, but keep in mind what Club Race class you are targeting and don't waste time or $ going beyond those class rules.
Also the best $ beyond safety equipment is the working on your driving skills. I am by far the weakest link in my car.
I still have a lot of wiring to clean up, still a work in progress. But that is part of the fun...
No, I dropped off and picked up so I didn't take any install pics. Bryan Bell, Mike Globe and I all had Topp Racing cages built so they may have some pics.
This is Todd's website:
http://toppracing.com/cages.html
it has a few photos or other installs.
