Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This weekend I insalled a pair of OEM 3.4 liter cans, which were MKI modified by a friend of mine from Speed Mill Customs . Based on what do FisterD posted in this thread , we used 1.75" pipe. The exact pipe used was ub-175-25-16-304 from Burns Stainless, which is a T304 16 gauge stain steel ubend in 1.75" diameter with a 2" radius. It is LOUD. It's very nice in 1st and second gear, but I'm worried it may too loud for cruising. I've only put 20 miles on it so far, and every time I drove it I did have a gigantic smile on my face and would skip around like a kid after I got out of the car. but I think if I were to do it again, I would use 1.5" inch pipe. She doesn't sound like a giant mechanical blender anymore. Suprisingly, she sounds just like my Dad's Ferrari Dino 208 GT/4, which doesn't have emissions equipment. Very aggressive, but not exceptionally deeper. We started the motor without the mufflers just to compare, and it was definitely MUCH louder than the 1.75" bypass, so you can use that as a frame of reference. WAY louder than stock, not nearly as loud as no mufflers. Kind of makes sense.

POST 2Original post

The sound over stock is great, I agree. I recently put on FisterD 3.4 cans and I'm very happy with the sound. Problem is my foots in the gas so I can hear that wonderkul melody instead of a sewing machine that stock pipes emit.
