Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
If the car in excellent shape and needing no services like oil/filter, brake fluid flush, coolant drain/refill (bah on that lifetime coolant BS), N-rated tires are present and in good condition (and check date on tires!), alignment done recently, etc.; I'd roughly (very roughly) estimate $55K, tops.
Leading evidence: 'Check date' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check date' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If you still want the car you found, and I'm not saying its not a good car, use these other cars to drive the price down.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hmmm... does anyone know this car? It sounds a little too low for pricing?

CPO 2003 996 Turbo with X-50 package and only 13k miles for $49k?
According to my Porsche dealer, Porsche will not allow a car >6yrs old to be CPO'd. ...and I just bought an '03 996 C4S. They could've been deceitful, but, the car is PERFECT so far and passed a PPI with flying colors.
Do a google search on the VIN. I did and got zillions of hits. Dealer has that car advertised everywhere. Highest price $69K. Another place the asking price $65K.
That $49K is just the opening bid if I don't miss my guess. (Have no experience with buying/selling anything via eBay.)
I can't speak to the car's condition but you know if dealer asking $64K or $65K or $69K or whatever the price the price is just an opinion, not fact.
Check out car. Look at CarFax report and see if it is clean. I'd not buy the car without seeing it in person and giving it a thorough going over and I'd not buy it without having a PPI done.
How much is car worth? If the car in excellent shape and needing no services like oil/filter, brake fluid flush, coolant drain/refill (bah on that lifetime coolant BS), N-rated tires are present and in good condition (and check date on tires!), alignment done recently, etc.; I'd roughly (very roughly) estimate $55K, tops. But do your own "research". Search
www.autotrader.com
(one place there are others) and see how many 2002 to 2004 Turbos turn up and for what price and with how many miles, etc. Don't worry about some (most) not having the X50 option.
I know some shoppers get all weak in the knees when they come upon a Turbo with the X50 package but try to keep your knees from shaking when you view the car or you'll pay more for the car than you would otherwise...
I love my 03 Turbo, even if it doesn't have the X50 option package.
Happy shopping!
Sincerely,
Macster.
At
www.autotrader.com
, just did a search -- any distance -- for 2002 to 2004 Turbos.
160 found. Got to be careful cause average price $59K. However, I note a couple of cars priced to really throw the numbers off. One car priced at $175K (some Pike's Peak race car) and aother at $110K (Turbo GT2 coupe). Another GT2 coupe at $99K. Then we have an 03 with 7644 miles priced at $90K.
Anyhow, I see the car you're looking at offered for $64996 (996?... subtle...) with 13K miles. But a few cars down there's another 2003 Turbo for $64991 with 3088 miles and probably closer to your zip code.
There's a 2004 with 9100 miles for $64900 (oh, a Cab.), and a SY 2003 with 14K miles with X50 package for $62500. This car located 2550 miles from my west coast zip code so this car could be right next door to you. Offered by private seller.
There's a 2004 with 9850 miles offered for $57K. 352 miles from my zip code. Probably in the LA area.
There's another 2003 with the X50 package with 24K miles offered for $55K. 2534 miles from my west coast zip code. This car also probably right next door to you. Private seller. Oh, car has (according to ad) a CPO warranty taken out on car when current owner bought car in May of 2009.
Look around. There are a lot of cars to choose from.
If you still want the car you found, and I'm not saying its not a good car, use these other cars to drive the price down.
Sincerely,
Macster.
My 03 Turbo bought in June of 2009 came with a 2 year 100K mile CPO warranty that runs until June 2011. (I have the paperwork.) Car only had approx. 9500 miles on it when I bought it.
Sincerely,
Macster.
That's not true. It's 8 years old, not 6.
From the Porsche Website:
Are all pre-owned Porsche vehicles suitable for the Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Program?
Vehicles eligible for inclusion may be current model year and be no older than (8) years old from the original in-service date with less than 100,000 accumulated miles or 160,000 kilometers. In addition the vehicle must pass a stringent 100+ point inspection conducted by our authorized Porsche dealerships. This program excludes Carrera GT.
Your dealer is incorrect. The following question and answer is from the Porsche website:
Are all pre-owned Porsche vehicles suitable for the Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Program?
Vehicles eligible for inclusion may be current model year and be no older than (8) years old from the original in-service date with less than 100,000 accumulated miles or 160,000 kilometers. I wonder if your dealer is confusing the maximum 6-year of coverage (4-year factory warranty PLUS 2-year CPO warranty) with the maximum age of a car that can be covered.
