Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Folks, Anybody know ? Home Depot was not able to take care of it since the cutting happens in the middle of the blank blade, not on the upper or lower side. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Do you have a 996 blank blade? If you do, where did you get it? I know the local dealer would have a blade made by using your VIN #.

POST 3Original post

Dealership - and it's cut offsite based on your VIN then shipped to the dealership for you. The key fob is then matched to your car for remote/alarm operation and RFID immobilization chip

POST 4Original post

The dealership has the cutter to cut a blank based upon your template key. If you have no template key (ie you lost all the original keys) you have to order the key from Germany based upon the VIN. Should only cost a few bucks for the dealer to cut a blank based upon your template key. -Todd

POST 5Original post

You can also try an Audi dealer, same type of key, same cutter. I've found Audi dealers to be a bit more cooperative on this too.

POST 7Original post

Dealership onsite,I have alot of those blanks.
