Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I wanted Liqui Moly on the oil change I did, but was told no that Moible 1 is the Porsche approved oil....The shop is old skool and one of the main reasons why I will be going to another one that used to service my aircooled 911

So oil was run when I drove down to the shop for the oil change.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Oil was gathered when shop did a oil change. So oil was run when I drove down to the shop for the oil change. instructions say to collect when engine not run. Also miles are 4,494 not 3,500. I missed up the miles on form. Anyone else come back with too much cooper? Engine runs great
Do you do a lot of stop-and-go driving ? Stilling at red-lights with the clutch pressed in can lead to wear on the "thrust bearing" on manual cars....( or worse ,,ridding along with your left foot resting on the clutch pedal )..........I have seen several cars that had only the thrust bearing worn , after seeing metal on UOA analysis or in the oil filter canister ....then dissasemble the engine to find everything is ok EXCEPT the thrust bearing...

I wouldn't loose any sleep over your first oil test. It's a process of multiple tests to see the trendline. It's also important to get a baseline test of virgin oil to see what you are starting with.
What oil have you been running in the 996?
guilty as charged....I also do short drives but always warm up and drive longer to get it past 180 and druck press down below 2 for oil pressure to be fully warmed up. Its my daily driver for the past 6 months
Thanks I am not losing sleep the engine runs strong and doesnt sound werid or the sort. 6 months owned only so my Indy did Mobile 1, even though I asked for LIQUI MOLY
Auto Atlanta on 01/4.23 used LIQUI MOLY 5w40
Hennessey Porsche on 08/23/23 used SYN40 A40 oil
My indy used Mobile 1 on 04/26/23 unknown wieght since he handwrites everything and doesnt put down info
For your next oil test, consider getting one of these. You can take a sample in your garage and you don't have to worry about your indy mixing your oil sample with anything you don't want to be included in the sample.

That magnesium number is high. Not necessarily bad but it's not a number I'm used to seeing up there. Also the zinc is low for my tastes. I'd suggest looking at the Driven oils or Liqui-Moly 2040. I'm also a fan of Lake Speed Jr. over at Speediagnostix for UOA; a bit pricier but more thorough.
