The reason porsche replaces the mm's has to do with early breakage/cracking do to the stiffer suspension.

I asked this question on the TT board, but figured it should go here as well because a lot of guys have the x73 on their C4s.
My x73 kit came with two motor mounts that my dealer did not install. He said that they were unnecessary and added that he was not sure why one would need to install them in connection with changing the suspension from stock to the x73. He thought that perhaps they were included in the kit by mistake. I checked on Gert's site and sure enough the kit includes two motor mounts, so is my dealer right or just clueless? Thanks.
A lot of dealers/service guys are not up to speed on this stuff. The reason porsche replaces the mm's has to do with early breakage/cracking do to the stiffer suspension. Your dealer is lazy, dumb or both. You may want to check out one of the porsche race shops in the area to do your work, will save a ton of cash, and get better results.
Sweet looking cab BTW, daily drivers rock! The snow was bitchin' on the way home but the old C4S with snows rolled along, full speed ahead.

. As far as snow tires, next season I'm going to try winter rims and tires for sure. I just got the car a few weeks ago, so I figured this year's snow season is basically over. (Last night's 8" here in Westchester, however, is testing my theory

You'll be amazed how well they do in the snow with proper tires. Last yr I ran summers, just got by with alot of white knuckle driving. My tip would be to buy a set of snows mounted on miglia rims from tire rack, have them delivered to your door. I did the cheap route, bought tires/rims seperately, spacers, bolts, all sep, what a hassle. I saved about 700 but soooo not worth it, have fun and I'll see you at some DE's, my first one(this yr) will be 3/24 at limerock!
