This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A friend of mine has a 996TT that he autocrosses and does DE's in. It's not the ideal autox car, but he has fun with it none the less. He's got about 3 seasons of both autox and DE under his belt. And the upgrade bug has hit. His plans are to upgrade the shocks with PSS9 coil-overs so he can have a stiffer ride and be able to lower and corner balance the car. Will the PSS9's give him the adjustability that he wants? Will he see a difference between his stock setup and the PSS9's? I've driven his car on the track, and the car does have a rather pronounced tendancy to understeer. I suggested that he upgrade the rear sway bar to give his car a little more of a neutral handling attitude. Is a GT3 or GT2 rear sway bar the way to go for him? Thanks, -Z-man, fellow water-pumper Porsche driver.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

D'oh! Wrong forum! 996 Moderator: please delete or close this thread - I posted on the 996TT forum as well. Sorry guys! -Z.

POST 3Original post

I would do more DE's and learn the car, the stock suspension is pretty damn good. Might consider x73 if anything.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

C4S Surgeon - Yeah, I keep telling him that seat time is the answer! If he goes with M030 & x73/x74 he'll be able to lower the car and save some $$! In doing a search, it seems that Moton and JRZ are best for a track dedicated 996, and that the PSS9's have some bumpstop issues. For a dual purpose street / track car, would the Moton's be too firm? Thanks, -Z-man.

POST 5Original post

Unless he's running in the red or black run group he doesn't need fancy coilovers, IMO. You can't throw money at a car that just needs to be driven.
