Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Rather, it looks like the attaching point has broken off, which is much more difficult to repair than replacing one of the suspension arms.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to identify this part that is broken. I don't notice anything abnormal driving but I was looking down under the car and noticed a wishbone looking part that is broken on a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 4. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

It's the attachment of the link to the lateral control arm. The upper end of the link is attached to what is the height sensor (lever). #21 in http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-parts/hardparts.php?dir=996t-99-05&section=401-00

Is this the rear of your car or the front? Doesnt look like the suspension link is broken. Rather, it looks like the attaching point has broken off, which is much more difficult to repair than replacing one of the suspension arms. Please let us know from what angle you are taking this photo and from which wheel well.

POST 5Original post

Part of the headlight leveling system. The broken part is the plastic headlight level sensor strut support, #21 in the diagram below. Part number 996 341 371 03, $5 at Pelican Parts.

What Falcon said is correct. The link arm, #20 is connected to the control arm through plastic part #21. When the end of the link corrodes until it can no longer move freely, it snaps the end of #21 and that is what is hanging from the end. You will need two #19, one #20 and one #21 to repair. There is one of these on the driver's side front and driver's side rear I believe.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
