Think 02 and on C2 use same rear wheel specs but with 285/30/18 tire and a front rim that is 8x18 with same tire 225/40/18.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody know if there are different spec's (weight) for the different model years of the 18" Turbo Wheels? I just noticed that one of my wheels is different than the rest and coincidentally I have had some handling concerns which most people are attributing to alignment but the dealer is saying it is my imagination. I am thinking that maybe that one wheel is of a different vintage and different spec than the rest. From the outside the wheels all look the same but on the inside three of them have grooves behind each spoke while the one that is different has a smooth surface. It also has some numbers that contain 993 in them so I am suspicious that this may infact be an 18" Turbo of a different vintage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Sounds like you have a mismatched set of wheels. I believe the flat backed spokes are hollow spoke wheels , while the ribbed backs are the heavier solid spoke wheels. The hollow spoke wheels also have metal valve stems if I recall, but the offsets are the same on hollows and solids. To check, take a look at the wheels, the offset will be stamped on the exterior of the wheel near the valve stem on all OEM Porsche wheels. I don't have the exact part numbers, but try posting this on Renntech.org, Loren or somebody can help you for sure.

POST 3Original post

Randy, The 18" Turbo Twist wheels come in all sorts of different offsets and weights. The C4S and Turbo takes a different offset wheel than the C2. There are lightweight versions of the wheels with the same offset. Also, there are slight differences in front rim width from year to year in the C2. You should make sure you have the same part number on each pair. Pretty sure 99-01 C2 has: {at least my 99 and 01} Front: 993.362.134.06 {which is a 7.5x18 ET50} with 225/40/18 tire Rear: 993.362.140.04 {which is a 10x18 ET65} with 265/35/18 tire These are the heavy {32 lb} rims. I believe there is a lightweight version too. Think 02 and on C2 use same rear wheel specs but with 285/30/18 tire and a front rim that is 8x18 with same tire 225/40/18. Hope this helps.
