I had the blow out and the first concern was to replace the blown tire and have the rest sent to Lucent to have them mount them, as the discount tire here sucks for balancing.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had a blowout recently where it caused me to replace the right rear. Since I need to replace the other tires as well and certainly must replace the right rear, I wanted to get a set of ps2's. As such I ordered a set of 235/295's. since I am in SD and I want other things done this thursday in LA and need to put a tire on the car, I had the one 295 sent to me. Ok, so now that, that is over, Will it be bad if I were to drive the car with a 285 on the left and a 295 on the right? I have a limited slip diff and that is my main concern. Any issue? I am going to drive the car up to LA, but need I only limit the time driven to that or is it ok to drive around with the car in the meantime? Thanks Sean

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone??? btw the diameter difference is less than .2 so I wouldn't think it would be a big deal. Please let me know so I can either enjoy my car over the weekend or refrain. Mainly I am worried about my diff.

POST 3Original post

I wouldn't drive it because of the LSD -- seems like it would but a lot of wear/stress since it would be slipping all the time due to the tire diamater difference.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well wouldn't it be the same argument with the spare? I highly doubt it is exactly the same radius as my 285 that's on there now???? I hear you on the concern though that's why I am inquiring before I put any miles on it.

POST 5Original post

It wouldnt make that big of a difference, it will only be out a little...Lots of guys do the 295/235 combo, dont worry just enjoy the drive

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

right but you get what i am asking? I will be driving from sd to la with a 285 on the left and 295 on the right- so I am worried about it hurting lsd-

POST 8Original post

If there is a choice, I would rather NOT run with two diff sizes. If you were forced to, then the difference is small enough I'd say do it. I don't get one thing, though. Why have only ONE of the rears tires shipped to you? Why not ship both and have both rear tires replaced?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't think about it really. I had the blow out and the first concern was to replace the blown tire and have the rest sent to Lucent to have them mount them, as the discount tire here sucks for balancing.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know the actual diameter of the spare, and how fast and for how long it's use is actually limited to? Thanks Sean

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

btw I found out the diameter of the spare it is actually .05 off the 295 diameter, making me think it won't be a big deal. I also did some other research and the only issue is to turn the traction control off.
