Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There was a light green wire which I left disconnected because that is how is was when I removed the the brake.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect because' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check #17 red one' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I also swapped my 996 seats for some 986 seats with the same options but very nice.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys,
I recently removed my seats, e-brake and console. After putting the car back together it wont crank. Everything else seems to function fine but no starter action at all. Before I start pulling stuff back out to check plugs and connections I thought something may needs reset? The car is new to me and I am not aquainted with all the electronics yet. Any ideas about what I may have done? It's like the car does not see the key code.
Thanks,
Tom
I did a test to see if the handbrake would cancel the top operation and it did, but I will check the wiring again. There was a light green wire which I left disconnected because that is how is was when I removed the the brake. Anyone know what the green parking brake wire is for? I thought maybe it was used for cars with automatic? Also, the previous owner changed the factory receiver for a 2DIN unit. So I expected to see some dead wires.
The hand brake should not have any bearing on starting the car (Unless it's a Cabrio thing but I had no such issues on my old 986S)
I would check the immobilizer.
Does the remote key lock and unlock the doors? If you had the key in the ign and on for a long time with the battery connected the immobilizer will go into alock down mode. If you haven't used the remote or locked and unlocked the door(s) with the key it it may not fully wake up. There was another rennlister who recently had that happen after he was working on the car with the key on to listen to the radio while doing whatever. If you didn't lock-unlock try it.
