Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my car in for an exterior detail a couple of weeks ago. I thought the paint was in excellent shape but figured I would have it detailed to see what the pro's could do. I did some online research and found a local Long Island owner/operator that posted on some detailing forums and seemed really into what he does. I brought the car to him beforehand and he showed me the swirls, etc...under LED lights in his shop which just amplified the minor swirls I had noticed in sunlight when I bought the car. He made a recommendation on the best process and the pricing was right so I scheduled for a week later. The car came out way better than I ever expected. One of the things he does is to post the pictures, process and results out to a website. Here's the link, I think it's great write-up.... http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ng-island.html

Jon does great work. That is a fantastic turnaround for a one step process. Enjoy!

Jon? The guy who did it was Bryan from Mr. Sparkle Detailing.

I was talking on the phone with a friend named Jon as I typed. Mr. Sparkles is well known in the Detailer community.

I used to detail my ferrari, and I say USED becasue I dont do it anymore. Park it and leave it there for an hour, come back and admire more fingerprints than a CSI could see, zipper scratches from people who lean on the car to take pics of themselves with a ferrari, even saliva... Its just wasting time and money. Same goes for the 911. Love to see the process and these threads though.

Wow, great work, great results. Also in the great work category, nice new avatar Gator, well played!

POST 9Original post

beautiful job the car looks brand new. Funny with all the internet negative talk about the 99 headlights i am actually growing quite fond of them! Nice 911.

POST 10Original post

Very nice! I wouldn't have thought that was a 1 step paint correction if it wasn't pointed out.

I am always surprised how good the Optimum Hyper spray compounds and polishes are. Since I acquired the Rupes I don't use it much but the Hyper finishes down so damn well. Great one step polish with no dusting.

I'll have to keep that in mind once my current stash of polishes runs out.

POST 14Original post

I've seen that guys postings on autogeek before. He does great work for sure.

POST 16Original post

If you don't mind me asking - what was the cost for the job?

$200 -but at the risk of any locals using him and assuming the same price, he customizes the pricing based on a time estimate...so it will likely vary depending on the condition of the car and the results you're expecting. The convertible also made for less work effort with the paint correction.
