When the remote is Off, I need to pull the plug, use the key and then put the key in the ignition to prevent the alarm from going off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 02 C4s that I love. Its a weekend car and some weekends are pretty full. As such, the battery saving remote timeout feature turns off the remote. Because I'm a nut, I have a bumper plug in the door keyhole that's the same color as the car. When the remote is Off, I need to pull the plug, use the key and then put the key in the ignition to prevent the alarm from going off. I suppose the big issue is being forced to put the key in the ignition to prevent the alarm. Anyway, is there a way to change the timeout setting? Thanks and Happy Easter

POST 2Original post

Leave the window open. Then you can reach in and put the key in without opening the door. Hit the remote on Wednesday when you walk past the car.
