I have seen how to access various system status readings by using combinations of climate control buttons. I cannot find any that work on a 2002? Is it an available feature/tool and if so, how do you access it. Thanks

There is no "hack" per se on the climate controls for a Mk2 like yours. You will need to get a OBD II tool like a Durametric that connects to a laptop.
