Could be all in my head, but the engine responded 'crisply' and was very smoothe, and I felt good checking off some more to do items on my list.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had purchased a new polyrib serpentine belt a few weeks ago, and decided today would be a good time to remove the air cleaner housing, so I could access the the tensioning roller and remove the old belt. I also spun all the pulleys to listen for any wear, and they seemed fine. While the throttle body was open, I cleaned the inner and outer areas until all of the oiled/sooted residue was gone. I cleaned up the areas with some rags, and put on the new belt, and reinstalled the AC housing. I went for 3 different rides today in my Porsche, and I swear it has never run better. Could be all in my head, but the engine responded 'crisply' and was very smoothe, and I felt good checking off some more to do items on my list. Next up is to change my tranny fluid and replace my leaking coolant tank.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Maybe tomorrow Tim. 52,320 mi. as of this afternoon, for a MY99. I'm curious to see if I really notice an improvement in the way my 6 spd operates, especially in colder weather. Once warmed up though, I like the way it shifts.
