Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I have sport seats in my aero with no heat pad and the seat adjustment used to work when I first got it. I was adjusting it one day when it stopped working.
I replaced the fuse and it worked for a few more times but now it will only blow fuses. The passenger side works just fine and caters to my wife's every needs.
Since the position is perfect, I have no need to fix it yet but in the event I want to get it sorted, what can be wrong with it. Its not a short because I had the seat belt light and it was fixed a few months ago.
Can it be a blown motor?
I had a similar problem right before my warranty ran out on my Boxster and it turned out to be a short in the wiring under the seat. One of the wires was mis-routed and wound up having the insulation worn away. The dealer repaired the short and reran the wiring with no problems since.
I would get GT3 seats but it would be a special order. There are no used classic gray GT3 seats around. They are typically Black...
GT3 Brake Ducts are here sitting on my desk. Woo Hoo!
Check the wiring under the seats. The wrap on the harness can loosen and let wires get pinched in the return spring.
Happened to my driver's sport seat and when I checked the passengers seat it was starting to do the same.
If you use the seats all of the way down the harness gets closer to the spring. Also if you have two drivers, one short and one tall, moving the seat often it can make things worse.
Chao,
Wait a week or so to get the seat fixed, so I can come over and sit in the drived's seat. It has been quite a while since I had anything "blown" in the front seat of a car and this may be the closest I will ever get again!
The seat has not been fixed for the past 3 years. You are welcome to borrow my car for a ride anytime. I don't think you will get what you are looking for though..
"Its not a short because I had the seat belt light and it was fixed a few months ago."
Their are multiple circuits under the seat. The seat belt hot wire is separate from the adjustment wires.
Its a short. The protective covering on the wires that run from the bottom of the seat to the motor in the back worn away at the hinge where the back support and seat cushion meet. This caused a short every time electric current ran through it. I taped it up and ran the wiring differently under the seat to avoid getting chewed up by the hinge.
