We started with a little run up and down the expressway to test the ankle, and then onto Flemings for dinner.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First off, that was a funny picture Tim. Finally, after a rough three months of neglect, I took one extraordinarily clean and babied 2004 C4s for a drive. We started with a little run up and down the expressway to test the ankle, and then onto Flemings for dinner. Today (shield your eyes Phil), I drove it to work. I have provided proof for those non believers. My first impressions are: 1, damn this car really does smell new 2, the seats are comfortable 3, it drives perfect 4, short shift is very nice 5, great road feel 6, the last three month really did suck and the next four arent going to be much better now that Ive had a taste of the good life 7, I'm a kid again 8, Torque is good, very good 9 Ive been in the car for three minutes, did the guy in the 997TT have to just blow by me.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nice try. I called dibs three months ago just to get ahead of the game. I'm being very protective of my place in line. I even got a cath so I would not have to go to the little boys room for the nex three years.

POST 4Original post

Is there a little LED indicator for when the cherry finally pops??

POST 5Original post

Nice to hear you finally were able to enjoy your pristine C4...and to work no less, way to go. Hope you'll have a chance to put on a few hundred miles in the near future so you can experience why these 911s are so addicting.

POST 6Original post

Wow, I didn't realize that Phil's former car only had about 6 months of miles on it!

POST 7Original post

I drove my car from San Diego to Las Vegas and back this weekend. Just burst through the 40k barrier. In any other car, that would be considered low mileage, but I probably just lowered the value 2% by taking that trip. Of course, I was smiling nearly the whole way there and back. Screw resale value, I bought the car to drive it. Unlike Phil! Glad to see the Porsche Rescue Project alive and well, that car was being tragically neglected!

POST 8Original post

Let us know when you drive it to the..... "Mall"

POST 9Original post

>>>My motto, man up and drive in pain. Excellent!!! Great to hear you're driving through the pain... I actually put 1000 miles on my car in 1 week! But now it sits in the garage... I've been detailing it slooooowwwwwllllyyy.... I clean the cars inside out. The interior is completely clean as well as the trunk. I.e. - I don't even have bits of dust in there and I waxed the spare wheel and the tools (yes, I'm neurotic).

POST 10Original post

About bloody time! I've only been waiting for that photo for how long!??! I was talking to Phil about this very subject earlier today! Now, a real enthusiast would drive at least another 200 miles by this weekend. Phil will be devastated that you put 2 years worth of miles on the car.

It's not the miles, Wayne. It's that he [gulp] drove it to work, a restaurant and took it on the EXPRESSWAY!!!

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 7093468

Oh no! He drove it on a road that had other cars on it!

POST 14Original post

good job. how's flemings? i've been meaning to give that place a try.

Hugh, it is awesome that you can finally drive the car! I am happy for you (and the car)! That ^ (#5) will be news to Phil, since the car never even saw the road while in Phil's posession! I still can't figure out how a guy can put 3,500 miles on a car in his driveway!

POST 16Original post

Drive, Baby, Drive that's what it was built for. and while you are at it, take it to a DE event. The only way to REALLY know how it works is to drive it towards its limits (which is impossible on streets). Then you will be awed. That is one happy car.... Like a puppy dog chasing a ball, she just wants to scamper a bit and chase the redline once in her life....

POST 19Original post

Hey Phil...how many miles are on your Audi at this point? Have you decided to keep it for awhile?

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 7097059

Love the car and use it as a daily driver. It's around 18 months old with 8500 miles. I do plan to keep it, at least for a while. I had a great deal of trouble with the top mechanism, but Audi replaced all motors and sensors, and it's been fine all last Spring and Summer. The 3.2's with 6sp are fairly rare, and fun.
