This is not a probability of success.

The cabrio wouldn't have any problems with the PSS9 or even the much stiffer GT3 susp that a friend of mine in a cabrio installed and used on track.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Given the reduced rigidity of a cabrio, would the PSS9's be unsuitable for a 2001 C4? Also, is the PSS9 for the turbo the same as the one for C4?

POST 2Original post

Absolutely not too stiff. Plus, they are adjustable so you can dial in the perfect ride comfort.

Your questions answered.. based on experience. The cabrio wouldn't have any problems with the PSS9 or even the much stiffer GT3 susp that a friend of mine in a cabrio installed and used on track. The turbo share suspension with the C4S, so no a turbo suspension won't work on your C4.

POST 4Original post

Smart question, interesting answer. I would have asked the same thing. Generally, the less torsionally rigid the body shell, the less suspension stiffness a car will tolerate. Otherwise, shock can be transferred from the dampers and springs (which can at least manage it) to body flex (which can't), and you get squirrelly handling. In my last roadster, you actually couldn't productively stiffen the suspension without adding body bracing at least at the front end, where flex would actually even momentarily affect camber. It says a lot about the 996 cab that you can tune the suspension so much without chassis flex problems.

I take it GT3 suspension is also a no-go for a C4 then?
