Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did include the mandatory "big butt" photo, as requested, as well as a shot of the interior.

POST 2Original post

nice.... Tim will give you a mod list shortly.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

medtech has already got a list started. Why am I getting the feeling that this whole 996 thing is going to cost me more than I originally thought?

I have to vote for the B&M short shifter first. Its an easy DIY - which help you "bond" with the machine. Have fun!

POST 5Original post

DSennis, she is very nice looking! Mods?? Did someone say mods??? Here is the starter list. PSE MK II mod with 3.6L mufflers (if you don't have PSE) Short shifter Aluminum gauge rings Aluminum Pedals Install Upper shelf in center console Garage Door Opener mod Spoiler Switch mod Paint Top Hats It looks like you already have the Key Plug & the Bumper Plugs.

1st off WOW ! ! Nice shots, looks great and the wheels look spaced nicely, I am a big fan of the interior and the way those graphite color pieces are in there it doens't become a "sea of mustard" as you might hear some call it. looks like SSK and 3 spokes already, with that inside roof color some black floor mats would be a quick way to POP that and tie it together (about $120) As for the statement... I have yet to discover the cost of ownership but I had 28 years of experiancing the cost of NOT having one............ Money is nothing compared to time lost.... ENJOY and thanks for the pics!! (ps... get your wallet out, because it still is MONEY! )

Beautiful!! That is one thing I wish my GT3 has.. big butt! Now you do know if you lower the car some, the butt will appear bigger... which makes it beautiful-er

I actually haven't yet ordered the key and bumper plugs. I have 'em on the Cayenne, and they are on my list for the Carrera. I plan to stop by my local dealer and pick up the upper shelf to replace the CD holder. Not to bring up the dreaded STFF... but tell me more about the garage door opener mod, the spoiler switch mod and the top hats mod... all sound very interesting...

POST 9Original post

Nice, Dennis. When I was shopping I drove one with that interior and my first thought was, ouch...this is a bit loud but about half way through the drive I was warming and by the end, I loved it. Yours reminded me of that and I still like it! I've done the pedals by the way and it's easy. Shifter??? I'm gonna have a look around for the garage door mod.......

POST 10Original post

Dennis & TGT40, Here you go: Garage Door Opener Mod Spoiler Switch Mod Here is the Top Hat mod. The first page has crappy pics. Post #22 & #23 have better pics. Painted Top Hats Mod

POST 12Original post

Car looks great. Can tell Tim is reminiscing about the good ol' days....

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everybody. A nice hand wash and wax made the paint look much better. Thanks for the mod list and the links Tim. I appreciate it.

POST 15Original post

Dennis, You are welcome. I am always happy to help someone else spend their money.... er.... I mean.... get their car upgraded!

POST 16Original post

Car looks great! Love the rims and interior. Really nice wide-body!!

POST 17Original post

I think I hear Sir-Mix-A-LOT!! Nice interior color. You did good.

POST 18Original post

Guys help me out here. The 996 C4 is considered a wide butt? I thought that was the S version.

POST 19Original post

No, the 996 C4 is a narrow body but the OP's car is a 4S. It is not easy to see the S in his pic.

POST 20Original post

Dennis, sweet pics of the ride. some of us, including me, out here are actually extremely slow at modding and think it is ok.... errrr i mean our obligations are ok with it. if i could i'd would... haha

POST 22Original post

Yep, it's a 4S - and damn pretty one at that. Enjoy - with or without mods!!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmm... maybe I should consider the red "S" on the back to make it stand out a little more... or perhaps a better camera... or both...

POST 24Original post

I vote for the red "S" on your C4S. I tried it on my C2 but the damn cape kept sliding out of the decklid!

I like the way you think... A matching tattoo would be a nice touch as well...

POST 26Original post

How about wood/leather/aluminum shifter+ebrake and aluminum pedals. interior from driver door.jpg Or perhaps GT2 wheels with 335/30 rear + 245/40 front tires? rear angle.jpg

POST 27Original post

wow.... sweet! Is that steering wheel by agla?

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 6416348

lol. -that wheel looks nice and thick!

POST 30Original post

OK guys, enough about Agla! Alan tried really hard to get it right for over two years. And you can barely tell from the picture how lumpy and skewed everything is. Still, my Atiwe 340mm Daytona GT is a thousand times nicer, I just don't have a picture of it.

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 6417622

Oh, I can tell....maybe you just forgot and actually orgered AGLA's special "Shiatsu" steering wheel, w/ gel inserts. Quite the rage these days.
