Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

33 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mea culpa! I've been on here for 1-2 weeks and I didn't post my car pics!!! Shaaaaaaammmme on me!! 2001 C2 996 From factory: Black on black Aero kit Upgraded exhaust M030 suspension Sports seats (heated) Headlight washer fluid nozzles (ooooooooooouuuuuuuhhhh!!!) Aftermarket: GT5 19" rims (black, polished lip) K&N cold air Clear sidemarkers (not show on pics, I just installed them last weekend) Tinted windows And as a bonus, a front bumper that now needs to be repainted because some lady backed up in the car the weekend I picked it up. Not damage other that paint on the front bumper, but still, that's just my luck... Also a post-picture event. More pics to come when weather warms up and I have a chance to organize a little photo shoot of my own. These were taken in Vegas by the previous owner.

POST 3Original post

Beautiful car. Reminds me of my first 996 (Triple Black Aero). Welcome to RL.

POST 7Original post

you naughty boy, holding out on us.... WELL - I see why, she is so beautiful you didnt want us drooling all over her!!! WOW ! NICE NICE NICE!!! Welcome and THANKS for the pics and info !!

POST 8Original post

Nice car!! I wondered about the background, - thinking wait a minute, that can't be Toronto - I think I lost money in one of those buildings in the background!!! What brand are those rims? They look like the have a Porsche crest in the centers?

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 6421254

Ed has a drooling problem ( as well as a few others)

POST 12Original post

lol might I suggest (since you got the clear sides) to do an Amberectomy on the headlights.... couple good reads about it From Rudy's Amberectomy The "Traditional" write up

POST 13Original post

Granger, Welcome to Rennmlist and congrats on getting a VERY NICE l@@king P-car! Recommendations for your first mods: Aluminum Gauge Rings Aluminul Pedals Alulinim look Trim Strips (below the glove box and and below the gauge cluster) Paint your brake calipers red. Paint the "top hats" silver

POST 14Original post

Nice car - welcome. I agree with Tim about the gauge rings. I think they add a really nice touch. Don't forget a short shift (pretty easy DIY).

POST 15Original post

geat looking car there. the 911 has a timeless design that no matter how old is the car you still can appreciate its beautiful lines. congrats and anjoy in good health.

POST 17Original post

I know I lost money in those buildings in the background

POST 18Original post

love triple black.... lowering it with some sways will be like night and day... Welcome to RL!

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the compliments guys. Reading your posts, I realized I forgot to mention I installed Rennline pedals last weekend (including dead pedal). The wheels are GT5s, but I don't know who makes them yet. I can find them on Google looking for "porsche GT5"... Amberectomy: I assume that means taking the amber out of the headlights. I will consider that for sure. Short shift: I like the idea. The throw on the 911 is kinda long compared to my 350Z. Any supplier recommendations? Aluminum gauge trim: Definitely thought about it. Again, any supplier recommendations? Big red brake paint job: Give me a few weeks and that'll be done. Gota911: Alum trim line: do you have pics of this? I'd like to take a look... Silver top hats: what are you referring to by "top hats"?

POST 20Original post

The hubs on the rotors. People like to paint them up, mainly silver to clean up the look.

POST 21Original post

Granger, Top Hats link see posts #21 & #22 for the better pics. Painted Top Hats Pics of the Aluminum Gauge Rings and Pedals. The 3rd pic also shows the upper cubby (shelf) which replaces the CD or Cassette holder. I don't have any pics of the aluminum trim strip.

POST 22Original post

Hey Grange! Nice looking ride! Welcome aboard - love those wheels... by the way, when you get to the amberectomy, you gotta get Ed to dig up some pictures - I defy anyone to do a better job hacking out the amber then he did... problem is, you only get one shot... My experience - a five year old with a blow-torch would have done a better job... but it's done! Rudy

POST 23Original post

Is that your car Tim? Wow, nice..... I see why you miss it

HAHAHA you did fine, just got a little nervous in the middle (right before the fire - just kidding) Thanks for the vote of confidence, but even you are a pro now As with most DIY projects, it takes some help from others, some pictures and then just doing it... then you know too !!

POST 25Original post

I love the seats!! Ofcourse the P-car is nice as well....but they always are (almost!)

Ed, yes that is my dearly departed. I had forgotten that you hadn't see many (if any) pics of it. Here are a couple more, in and out. The 3rd pic was taken in the Fall of '07 in front of the NC house, which we still haven't sold.

POST 27Original post

WOW - Tim, no I had not seen it, well not like that... sorry to highjack this thread, OP.... Thanks Tim.... BTW that castle in the background... that's yur.... awe, house?

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 6424502

Yes, that is the North Carolina house we are trying to sell without much luck.

POST 29Original post

Nice car and do love those wheels with the bright surround. Might I suggest a wing (speak with Ed)?
