Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was concerned about the lamp getting too hot and melting the cover material, but when I did a bench test temperature measurement with the lamp on, the material around the lamp never got above 100 degrees F.
Leading evidence: 'Test temperature measurement' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test temperature measurement' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. you should use the food warming lights...then your feet would keep warm on those cold CA nights!

And is saved $594.50 by buying some Audi glovebox lamps at a junkyard, and using some wire I had laying around.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Footwell Lighting!

Now I can be assured I have my feet when I get inside the car!
Is your footwell lighting installed in the same manner as the factory option? I have a 2003 C2 Cab with the Bose audio option. I'm pretty sure that the footwell lighting wasn't a compatible option with the Bose system (because of the footwell mounted sub-woofer?). From your picture it looks like you have the Bose system. How did you do the install? Do you plan to do a DIY write-up?
Thanks
The effect that I was going for was lighting that was focused on the footwell area, so that the lamps were not visible. This is why I chose not to place the lamps on the sides of the Center console. I think that this application will work with non-Bose vehicles as well. This placement is the same as the lighting in most sedans.
For the lamp on the drivers side, I bought a piece of plexiglas from Tap plastics for 39 and cut out a hole from a pattern I made from the lamp in the front trunk. It was in turn screwed to the air conditioner duct that runs along the drivers side with 2 self-taping screws.
For the passenger side there is a cover under the dash that hides the air conditioner condenser and fan. It is made out of a semi-rigid foam material and is held in with 3 screws. I found a place in the back right side of this cover where I could cut a hole for the other lamp. I was concerned about the lamp getting too hot and melting the cover material, but when I did a bench test temperature measurement with the lamp on, the material around the lamp never got above 100 degrees F. I put some heat insulating tape around the mounting hole just to make sure. This is that foil tape that is used to seal ductwork in homes.
Both lamps are wired in parallel back to the center dome light. I simply soldered the wire to the PCB in the dome light assembly. The wire runs down the left A pillar and under the dash to the lamps.
It is a very simple DIY.
Good eye Johannes. I didn't even notice the mirrors. Looks like mirror bras.
Orient, nice mod. Very ingenious. Maybe next you can do a diffused "boulevard lighting" like they have on the Rolls Royce so that people on the street can see you as you cruise by.
Mirror booties. They work pretty good. The right side one has a long slice on the exterior cover from a sharp rock that was thrown up. They match the bra.
It's OK, Midnight Rider is simply trying to express his views the best he can given his probable vapid and bovine nature. Those traits are not a crime.
I for one would be very interested in hearing about the mods that have been made to Midnight Riders impressive stable of cars. It would probably help put "dumb ***" in context.
