Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run both' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check around' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Haven't heard the BB or GHL in person, but when I was doing a lot of checking around for my 996, I recall some not terribly hot comments about BB.

Suggestion
I tried GHL, nice muffler uses OEM tips, but to quiet.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know they're not hugely popular, but the sound clip on their website (
www.bbexhaust.com
) seems intriguing, and was therefore just curious to hear people's opinions. Throaty or high-pitched? Resonance? Etc, etc.
Thx.
Yea, I would like to hear some feeback too. I saw the site. Hard to believe 31 rear wheel hp. Maybe on a 99 to 2001 na car with a intake and chip upgrade. If they could get 31 hp extra out of an 03 car I would get one.
Haven't heard the BB or GHL in person, but when I was doing a lot of checking around for my 996, I recall some not terribly hot comments about BB. The Fabspeed website also has some pictures and info on various exhausts cut open and "exposed", worth looking at. I ended up putting PSE on my 996 (and I just put PSE on my 997S), and that is one exhaust where I am comfortable saying you can't go wrong. Other than PSE, I strongly encourage you not to put anything on until you have heard it IN PERSON, as the sound clips can be very deceiving.
Both companies are local to me. B&B and GHL were never the same at all. I have run both. The B&B quality for the 996 was ok. It used there own tips that look crappy. I tried GHL, nice muffler uses OEM tips, but to quiet. I run Fabspeed now and love it. Fit and finish is amazing with a doubt. PM me for a deal.
As far as HP. It is impossible to make 31hp, and B&B should know that. I have their headers on my car too, and trust me there is no 30hp. All the other companies are right at about 10hp.
I had heard they used to be together too, so I guess you can't believe everything you hear on the internet. 30 horses sounds a bit over the top for just an exhaust unless you had chip headers, intake and computer....maybe.
I'm surprised you think the GHL system is too quiet. I just got it a month ago and when you open it up, it really makes some sound. I couldn't imagine a louder system, the cops would be tracking me everywhere.....
I'm going to catch up with Chris in a bit and hear his GHL system. The soundclips certainly sounded nice - but it is difficult to draw conclusions on that basis alone. Stay tuned...
And, now back to Billy Boat reviews. - :-)
I had B&B headers and mufflers on my '99. The HP claims are absurd (per my butt dyno). The quality was good (especially the headers), but I bought my stuff in '99 or '00 so I don't know if that's the case today. The sound was nice, a little throatier than stock (didn't sound like a sewing machine anymore) with zero resonance but too quiet for my taste (I've got muffler bypass pipes now). Had them for 4-5 years and 30k miles with no problems. Also, I thought their tips were ok...good quality, better looking than stock and a little different from what everyone else has.
If I had to do it again, I'd forget about the headers and go with Fabspeed.
