Installed new fabspeed mufflers Friday from Dan at vivid. Couldn't be happier with the sound and fit. But having read some of the install times here I am starting to beleive my wife is right that my mechanical ability is all but gone
With a lift, and air tools, 20plus years of experience screwing around as a backyard mechanic on mototrcycles and cars, it still took me about 2 hours and I cracked 1 rusted bolt for the clamp between the catalytic and the muffler in the process. Is it time to sell the snap-on tools and stick to wax on wax off?
You're ok. When people say it took them 1 hour to do the muffler install, it's like when a New Yorker tells you it's a 5 minute walk -- that means it's a 1/2 hour walk.
No body is doing it all in a hour from start to finish. Two hours if you keep at it...
It took me 30 mins. and that's including a haircut and a pedicure..No really..2 hours is great your 1st time. Next time it will be an hour! Keep your tools and do a SSK if you havn't already and while your at it put in a painted or CF console. and why not wire in the garage door opener and move the spoiler switch and then...........$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Well, you know the rest!!
