Don't know about your area but over here I usually go to a Porsche Salvage yard where I usually find my "used" parts cheaper.

These switches are so absurdly priced ($495) that it would be cheaper for me to buy two essentially new/used seats (with switches) for my car from the same eBay seller than to buy 2 new switches.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, My passenger side seat switch (Comfort Seats, 2002 Carrera) died this past weekend. On Ebay a guy is selling what looks to be exactly what I need -- New Old Stock. Visually it looks exactly like the part I have that broke but less expensive. Not sure the switch for the 1999 is the same as a the 2002. Visually it looks like a perfect match. Any thoughts? Here's the eBay link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...9#ht_894wt_941 Thanks, guys!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did some checking this morning and it seems like a fit so I bought it ... will relist on eBay or here if it doesn't. One thing I learned .... These switches are so absurdly priced ($495) that it would be cheaper for me to buy two essentially new/used seats (with switches) for my car from the same eBay seller than to buy 2 new switches. Go figure. Might be worth just finding some ripped up seats. I'll keep an eye out in case I see another.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I agree. But in this case the salvage guys are not fond of ripping the seat switches from the seats themselves. I can understand that. Probably hard to sell the seat without the wiring
