Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Not to disrespect anyone's opinion however, if we subscribe to this belief, why change anything in our ignitions or plugs?
Leading evidence: 'Replace anything in our ignitions or plugs' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace anything in our ignitions or plugs' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
I'll leave you with this thought, if we stayed with conventional plugs we wouldn't have the Platinum and Iridium electrodes, we'd still be running copper.

We also would not be running the new designed groundstrap design as seen in this picture.

They produced a teeny-weeny spark using the exact calibrated pull of the lawnmower rope from my arm than the others.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was reading some articles on
Wired Online's
web site when I came upon a review of these:
Pulstar Pulse Plugs
: They're supposed to burn a heck of a lot brighter. Of course, they don't even exist beyond the prototype phase yet, and judging from the 3 comments on Wired's site, they seem totally implausible and absurd.
But, it got me thinking. What do you guys use for spark plugs in your 996 cars? Stick with stock or have any of you had good success with some of the 'forked plug' vendors?
Thanks for the listen.
So 2 years later, they've come out with a product. 24.95 each does not sound cheap, but I really love those action videos showing how much brighter they spark.
Corvette and Bimmer boards are chewing on this data too and the general consensus that is coming through is that the real life gains are probably not noticeable except for the substantial lightening of your wallet!

What's the advantage of the NKG Plugs over stock? I think they're actually a little cheaper, aren't they? What kind of life could I expect? 50,000 miles? More?
This is my holiday projects (well, one of them).
I always thought the exact same thing but twin plugging a motor will in fact increase HP. Has been dyno proven many of times. It may have to do with origination of the initial explosion and the pistons relationship at the time it occurs.
So is the forum recommendation to stick with stock plugs? I'm going to just get a fresh new set it once I reach 45K on my '02.
Generally, even back in the S2000 and E46 M3, the people who really knew pretty much recommended to stay with the stock stuff as other bright ideas are never justified based on research and data since so many know just enough to sound dangerous.
Best,
Ben
I did a science experiment in a highly controlled atmosphere
in 8th grade on which plugs produced the "biggest" spark. All the brands did the same except the Bosch platinums. They produced a teeny-weeny spark using the exact calibrated pull of the lawnmower rope from my arm than the others.
My point is, they are all relatively the same if not using exotic metals. Trust me, it was accurate conclusional data.
I know the general opinion is to stick with the stock spark plugs. However, I have used the new Pulstar plugs in a 1999 Carerra and now in my 02 Carrera. Although I can't prove it, my car seems to have more bottom end torque. One thing I can prove is a 2 mpg in fuel mileage. I'll leave you with this thought, if we stayed with conventional plugs we wouldn't have the Platinum and Iridium electrodes, we'd still be running copper. We also would not be running the new designed groundstrap design as seen in this picture. I was using the new groundstrap design while racing VWs during the 80's. As one reader stated "Either your compressed fuel ignites or it doesn't". Not to disrespect anyone's opinion however, if we subscribe to this belief, why change anything in our ignitions or plugs?
