Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ordered the Sprint Booster and asked my 12 year old daughter to help me install it. She got behind the footwell and put the Sprint Booster in about 15 minutes! ;-)) I'm also attaching a couple of photos which shows how the connector looks when detached and a clear shot of the complete installation. The difference it more than dramatic and between this and the 997 shifter upgrade, it feels like a totally new car.

POST 2Original post

6-speed or Tip? Any driving impressions to share?

POST 3Original post

OK, these sprint booster pitches have gotten out of hand...

POST 5Original post

Hmmmm... I dont know - glad to hear people's perspective...

POST 6Original post

Yes, 6 speed or tip? I find it curious that no 6 sp owners acknowledge the sluggishness/weird linearity of the DBW throttles. I'm sure the tips are more noticeable, but it is still pretty hesitant on the manuals. If you're slamming through the gears, it's fine, but I honestly feel that the first 40% of pedal travel is too incremental in the throttle increase per degree of pedal movement. But, that said, I still gotta say that $300 is just WAY too much, it's not like the car is undriveable! It has plenty of room for improvement so if at least the booster had switchable points to fine tune it to each drivers preference, the $300 would be easier to swallow, but you just have to go and take what the Booster makers feel is correct. Anyone know what they charge for other make & model SB's?

POST 7Original post

I certainly feel the "slack" in the throttle on my 6 speed 2002 4S. I always thought it was made that way on purpose for non-sporting inclined drivers, so that they would not lose control. If it was $200 I'd buy it. But like you said - $300 is a big chunk of new x-pipe cats... which I'd rather have.

POST 8Original post

Are non sporting type drivers even allowed to own a 911???

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 6780641

Sure, just check out the 997 forum heh... Disclaimer: I kid... I kid...

POST 10Original post

Oh that's too funny!! (true but too funny!!) Pete

POST 12Original post

I don't know about the 997 guys, but I saw a cupholder thread right above this one in the 996 forum. Hell, I don't really even consider my AWD 911 to be a sports car...more of a GT, really, and it's a family truckster at our house.

No we are not! That's why I now drive a Honda! You sure can't drive "sportingly" in that POS!

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 6783627

I tend to drive just about anything sportingly, often to my wifes dismay

POST 15Original post

Come on down to Dallas and drive my POS. If you can drive it sportingly, I'll buy you dinner!

POST 16Original post

OK, don't kill the messenger.....I installed a Sprint Booster last nite in my 2001 Cab/Tip. First impressions.....Better than sex? NOT! But darn good! As others have said makes the car feel like a new, more spirited car, and yes more fun to drive !

Woo - woo!!!! Knew you'd like it...I think it's good bang-4-the-buck even though some may be put off by it's price tag for such a tiny 'thing'. I love mine... I now summon the 911 Antibodies to come out and take their hands form their faces for moment and spew some disparaging remarks then shuffle-walk back to their holes...

POST 18Original post

It truly makes it a different car....Money WELL spent!

POST 19Original post

Yesterday put on my 02' 4S Tiptronic the sprint booster by boulekos dynamic( http://www.boulekosdynamic.com/eng/index.asp ). The instalation time was about 10' min. The second gen of sprintboosters has a control unit to change between 3 diferents programmes .SPRINT BOOSTER is manufactured in Greece and its been exported to more than 30 countries around the world for the last five years. when you put it on....... you said wowowowwoow..... makes tiptronic cars downshifting like a 2010 PDK. It's the best mod... the feeling is about gain 30-40 hp or lose weight about 300kgr....Sprint booster is the only way for the tiptronic cars to wake up

POST 22Original post

Would you need it on a manual? Why not just downshift?

I think you misunderstand what this thing does. It adds no horsepower or performance. All is really does is change the throttle map for your car to make the throttle react more aggressively to throttle inputs. I don't own one, but I believe it has three setting. Seriously.... sounds like a waste of $$$

POST 26Original post

With this little thing plug in, it's like you drive a new car. You can't describe what happens with just words, you must drive one with sb and one without to feel the diference and the diference is huge. This think dont add hp but give you the feeling that it does.....Believe me i am very happy with this mod because my tiptronic car become more fun to drive.

I know this post is from 2009, but that has to be one of the funniest comments I've read on this forum, and everybody thinks they're a comedian around here.

POST 28Original post

Fly by wire guys must be all the same. Would be funny to see somebody claim to the police his gizmo he just installed made him speed. Riding the 400 lb 170hp bike with a 1/4 turn throttle tonight was the only sprint buster type of thing I'll ever ride with. Hehehe Califonia would probably outlaw this sprint buster thing.

POST 29Original post

Put one on my 550. It was a huge difference! Very cool upgrade for Automatics.

POST 30Original post

I put one in my 997 and I love it. It's similar to the effect of the 'sport' button, or a reflash by making the throttle more sensitive.

POST 31Original post

If the throttle "tip in" isn't to you liking this mod make sense. I would hide the switch under the dash somewhere if I was to do it.
