He shot a quick video with his iphone for a sound check when we were building the custom exhaust for it, so not the best quality.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

38 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After sitting by the fireside many a night pondering on how to get this car the way I really want it, and not wanting to sacrifice my turbo for a GT3...or have to wait my whole life for Porsche to make one in my favorite green...I decided to experiment a little. Everything has been professionally done and I'm very satisfied so far in its progress. I tried to stay close within Porsche's factory "guidelines" with the accents. I've owned quite a few exotics and it turns heads like no other. Even Lambo guys turn around to catch a glimpse. Pretty funny. What do you think? I can take the heat

POST 2Original post

Not too bad. A while ago, someone found a classified ad for a very green 996 with green leather interior... Yours is far better than that!

POST 3Original post

With the exception of the "turbo" script on the fender, I like it!

POST 4Original post

Looks good! Definitely unique! I would stretch my neck for a second look if I saw it on the road! I like the "Turbo" script on the rear quarter panel. Reminds me of the early 930's that had a "Turbo" logo there.

POST 5Original post

I like the green on the GT3RS a little better then the color you have. Unique without a doubt.

POST 6Original post

I need to color calibrate my screen or something.... did I just see polar/arctic silver with green wheels and script?

POST 7Original post

What ever floats your boat. I can dig it I would like to see a side shot. ??

POST 8Original post

Its not going to please everyone but thats the point, you like it and I think it is a nice looking car.

POST 9Original post

The script on the fender and quarter panel need to be straight and not in an angle like you have. Every script put on fenders whether it was 951 turbo, 911 CS, 911 RS were always straight. I would redo them cause now it looks like you were drunk when you attempted the task.

POST 10Original post

It doesnt work for me but if you like it thats all thats important

POST 12Original post

My mother once told me that if I didn't have anything nice to say, then I shouldn't say anything at all, so.......

POST 13Original post

I personally think it went overboard. Maybe changing the wheel colors back to original or getting aftermaket wheels will do the trick. I would also takeout the turbo script. But that is just me. Whatever suits your taste sir.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm a crazy 80s child. I like my bright colors. I had fluorescent colored fanny packs and different colored shoe laces. lol

Oh ya. I had a Miami Vice jacket ! Can anyone really talk bad about a Porsche Turbo? Homie don't think so!!

POST 16Original post

I hope this is merely an errant PhotoShop job gone bad!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here's a video of it without the Turbo script. This was filmed by my buddy John when he was installing a supercharger on his 997. He shot a quick video with his iphone for a sound check when we were building the custom exhaust for it, so not the best quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmH4G92AZgc

Well, we had a club event last night at a Porsche dealership, and there were two 997.2GT3RS in attendance, both with the same stripes as yours. The consensus within my peer group was that the cars were perfect in every way, except the stripes should go. But hey, I'm in no position to judge. Far be it from me to tell someone else what to like. I like the green ok, just not the design of the stripes.

POST 19Original post

I don't see anything wrong with the color. To each their own. The porsche would be great in the solid color as long as it can stand up against a bully by leaving him in the dust. While the non liker thinks he doesn't like the car for its color he can add not liking be left in the dust to the list How did the supercharger install go? Which one and how happy is he? Might add gas mileage for giggles.

POST 20Original post

Like I tell my wife, "if you like it, then I love it".

POST 21Original post

I like it! looks like no other and that's what counts. Also it sounds awesome!

POST 22Original post

I too am a child of the 80s (born in the late 70s) and I had neon colored Jams and crazy laces too. Me no likey. But as others have said, if you do, that is all that counts.

POST 23Original post

It looks like a huge "Chase Me!" sign for the police to me, it would mke me stop and take a look and if it was in a car park I'd park and wait to see the owner.

POST 24Original post

It's obnoxious and sounds freaking awesome. I love it! Take THAT ricer boys!

POST 25Original post

I like the concept...not the color...would look better in black...

POST 26Original post

the colors don't run together very well, but ehh whatever floats your boat pal.

POST 27Original post

I wouldnt do it to mine. But I have to say, I like it

POST 28Original post

I think it looks spectacular! Good for you! I get SO tired of endless acres of Porsches in bland shades of grey or black or dark blue. BORING! I also happen to like your choice of green as well.

POST 29Original post

I have seen other vids from that shop... they do some sick exhaust work your car sounds hot ! looks I give it a plus!!

POST 31Original post

Nice idea, script looks good, not sure the colors work together. But hey when you look at Porsche latest GT3 RS choices I'd be hard pressed to say their's is any better.

POST 32Original post

for me less is more. Im not of fan of huge graffics but i think the problem with this set up is the color. If the the car was black and the green maybe more electric this could and would look decent to me for a temporary mod. But what do I know. Seems your quite happy with the car now so enjoy it. Good thing is this is reversable.

POST 33Original post

Looks like you came straight out of import tuner magazine. Are u Asian?

POST 34Original post

Lysol dude, I've got your lime green Porsche right here. Just imagine what you could do with this gem! Phil

POST 36Original post

My eyes hurt. I'm sending you the bill from my optometrist.

POST 37Original post

The turbo script needs adjustment, but I cant' really put my finger on it. The wheels are over the top IMO. I would do the centers in Graphite w/ your green around the lip. Just my 2 cents, cause u asked. I dig the seats though.

POST 38Original post

I dig it, cool to see some colors poppin', I like that shade and graphics, not sure about the Turbo. The best part is obviously the car backs it up, sounds awesome, made my laptop bounce, ha.
