Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would rather do it myself and avoid using a shop for the work.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have experienced intermittant functioning headights in my 2003 Cab for the last two months. I knew there was a problem when the Xenon lights didn't turn on immediately with the switch, but they did after a minute or so. Well, last night an hour away from home the lights stopped working with the switch completely. I drove home pulling on the high-beam lever for an hour, as that activated the high beams.
Anyway, I will look at the fuses after writing this, but don't see that as the problem. Fuses either work or don't so the intermittant issues I had seem to point toward the switch. It seems the switch isn't an uncommonly replaced part according to several on this site.
How easy is it to replace the switch? I would rather do it myself and avoid using a shop for the work.
Any other ideas that might help me diagnose this? This forum has been very helpful.
Thanks for your help.
Kurt
Your issue sounds like the switch. It's pretty easy to replace. I had some of the same symptoms on my car. The whole replacement takes maybe 30 minutes to complete.
Do a search on this forum on exactly what to do but it requires taking the left vent off and removing three screws and one big nut that holds the switch in.
Can I replace the headlamp switch without disconnecting the battery without trouble? I would rather not, as I am worried that the radio won't work afterwards since I don't have the security code for it.
Thanks for your help.
Kurt
Kurt, the radio code is programmed into the ECU in the '03 and '04 model years. So if you disconnect the battery your radoi will work after the reconnection of your battery.
