Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been looking at a C4S and am continuing down that path. However I called my insurer today (Hoosier AAA) and they said the don't write policies for 993, 996, or the GT. I tried to explain that I'm pretty sure that they mean the turbo versions of the 993/996 but they said it's not broken out by type.
I'd rather stay with AAA so is there a specific key word or policy reference I need to use to make these folks understand, or have they really stopped insuring the 996 and will force me to move my business?
Is it going to be a single car policy or do you own other vehicles? I believe that Allstate in our state has the same exclusion if it's the only car on the policy. However, since we had other vehicles, it didn't apply.
I'm a current 2-car policy holder and have been with them almost forever. I would keep both cars on the policy so if I have to move I would move the other car over to any new coverage as well.
You might be able to find an old thread with this problem resolved. Lasy known it was the VIN triggering the turbo no go for insurance being an exotic type.
I've had my P-car insured with AAA Nevada for about three years now. Different AAA clubs have different rules. By the way, they even covered a 15k claim for an incident on, or should I say off the skid pad at the track...Ouch!
What ever you do shopping don't say you'll race it. Some might still insure but getting coverage I've heard is I believe a different insurance for the track events.
UPDATE:
I just got a call from the President of Hoosier AAA who said that they do and would insure the car without question - especially since I was a 36 year member. He actually went on to say that even if they didn't normally insure it they would because of the driving records and the duration of the membership.
I'm getting the PPI tomorrow and now need to follow up with an actual insurance quote.
great news.
my boxster is about $500 yr full coverage 7500 mile limit with state farm, but that includes home owners, 3 other cars, umbrella, and other ryder discounts.
Tom, good for you. Proves that "no" doesn't always mean no.
I had a similar situation with my home insurance in Charlotte. When we moved to Dallas, we were still trying to sell the Charlotte house. State Farm was not going to continue our coverage because the house was vacant.
I wrote the person from the corporate office that had sent us the notification letter (a.k.a. form letter) and requested an additional 6 months of coverage. I reminded them that I had been with them 35+ years and, at that time, had 3 cars and 2 houses covered with them.
I also mentioned that if I needed to find alternative coverage for the Charlotte that I would also check on competitive rates for the Dallas house and my 3 cars. Copied both agents in NC and Texas.
I received a letter stating that I would be covered for an additional year. Fortunately, we sold the Charlotte house 3 months later.
