Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was lucky enough to get a TL bumper cover off here. Should be here in a few days. This got me thinking about a few things: 1) Since the paint dude is going to have paint mixed up and ready, I might as well get the center console painted. Good idea, bad idea? 3) Since I'm messing with the center console, should I get the ashtray delete and get it painted also? 2) Since the center console is going to be taken off, I might as well install the OEM short shift kit. Good idea, bad idea? Anything else I should be considering here? *Also note, my fiance is graduating next weekend. All these Porsche related expenditures in her mind should be allocated towards her graduation gift so there's been a little drama at the Bailey house.

Tell her to get a job and she can afford her own P Car.

POST 3Original post

All good ideas, otherwise you'll be painting the ashtray delete at another time, and removing and reinstalling the console after it has new paint for the SS install. Do it before someone else says "no".

POST 4Original post

Yes, do all of the above. On the "other" topic..... don't argue with your fiance, dicker!

POST 5Original post

Like the ideas. Spacing mine out a bit. Removed the bumperetes, painted the bumper, clear bra on the bumper and bumper plugs. Also replaced some cracked fender liner parts while I was there. Center console will be next.

POST 6Original post

Tim....dicker or dick her...sorry, someone has to be Ed.

POST 7Original post

Better to let all your bad habits out in the open before you even think about getting married. I let my wife know early on, motorcycles, sports cars and such are an important part of my life and always will be. 35 years later, we argue about everything else, just not my toys, lol.

1) Yes! 2) YES! 3) YES!!! * You better have a few bucks left over for a gift!

It means the same in my dictionary.... Also do all the mods you want to, its your car...she doesn't realize it but she is the mod that sits in the passenger seat.

POST 15Original post

Yes, batch the mods to be completed at one time instead of looking at them wishing you had later on. Also, make sure you 'pony up' for the appropriate graduation gift. As a friend of mine says, 'happy wife, happy life'. Kevin

POST 18Original post

Take her to the coast or some place else in the porsche for her present. Give an inch she'll take a mile.
