But Friday I decide if this is as good as the owner was saying I would bring a certified check for $33,000 and not let this one get by.

I had a couple other 911s in mind but was having problems with people trying to jack up the price, and changing advertised price.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Long wait for a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
I sold my 2000 C2 Cab Triple black just before the stock market crash for $29,000. Once I saw the price drop I began looking for a 2002 Carrera Cabriolet. In September I found a triple black C2 Cab in Baltimore Maryland with 8k miles. The owner had just got divorced and needed cash; he had dropped the price down to $29,000 from $33,000. I decided to drive up to Baltimore and take a look. The 911 was really clean, ran and drove great. The front end had collision work, and the paint was atlas gray metallic not black, but the condition and the drive was so good I decided to go for it. I had transferred all the money and had agreed to pick-up the Porsche on Friday. But I receive a call on Wednesday that he had sold to another buyer. Needles to say I was really upset. I thought I would never find a deal like that.
I had a couple other 911s in mind but was having problems with people trying to jack up the price, and changing advertised price. I have been only looking at triple black cabs with full leather packages and 18 wheels. And I was ready to fly to California to pick on up for I had flown to Illinois for my 2000 Porsche.
However three weeks later, I happened to see a triple black Cab advertise by a private owner in Annapolis Maryland for $37,000 with 23,000 miles. The advertisement could not have been there for more than a few hours. Friday morning I gave the owner a call and talked him down to $33,000 and said to me that the Porsche was loaded. I made plans to take a look at the 911 Saturday morning. But Friday I decide if this is as good as the owner was saying I would bring a certified check for $33,000 and not let this one get by.
When I got to the owners house he was in the driveway washing the Porsche. When I first walked over to the 911 I look through the window and not only saw the full leather package but also the supple leather seat package as well. I couldnt believe I found these options together. Also It came with the dark wood package, Bose premium sound and CD changer, heated seats with full power and lumbar, upgrade xenon with washers. This was too good to be true, she truly was loaded. I took a walk around the Porsche and saw all original paint with only one small door ding and a paint chip and no oil leaks.
I asked the owner if he had any more calls, and he told me he had a couple of calls but ignored them. We went to take the Porsche for a ride and I said you have to give me a reason not to buy this Porsche. The Porsche drove as good as it looked and I was sold, and closed the deal that day.
I am now back in a Triple Black 2002 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet C2. I just love the drive. It has all the desired options and more. The original invoice and all books were included, priced at over $91,000. The Invoice showed that the Bose option was $3,445. The Bose demo CD had not even been opened which was included; the owner said he never played the CD. After playing the CD, I was convinced that the Bose system alone was worth the extra money. Going over the 2002 Porsche revealed a higher quality than my 2000 and the 3.6 gave noticeable more horse power. The supple leather seats are also heaver grade leather than stock. This one is a keeper; its good to be back driving a Porsche.
Thanks,
Chris

"I like your garage floor...piant, tiles, carpet?"
Home Depot Armstrong vinyl tiles, Spent about 400$ for 20x20, very easy to install. Used a table saw to cut tile and a good glue remover product for hand cleaning after every 10 tiles. Just need to polish and finish the steps.

ps--My brother in law just bought an '09 tripple black C2 S version of your car. He paid close to $100k, and I can't imagine it's 3 times better than your car! I'll get to drive it this weekend, but for the money, yours is a killer deal!
2009 911 New flat-six engines featuring direct fuel injection.
Output of the 3.8-litre power unit in the S-models is up by 30 to 385 bhp , pushing the extra-powerful S-version beyond the magic speed barrier of 186 mph. Your brother-in-law should be more than pleased.

2002 Porsche 911 C2 Cabriolet
2000 Porsche 911 C2 Cabriolet sold.
GT3 would be good if I lived next to a track but for a every day driver I would stay will a C2 911. My old 2000 911 had Eibach's, lowered about 1.5", it was a bit harsh on anyting but smooth roads. I would think a GT3 is more so.

2002 C4 Cabriolet:
True, the GT-3 isn't as civil, and it has a hardtop. So it wouldn't fit with your MO! Aside from the rims, and a glove compartment and cup holders, those two black C2 cabs are pretty much twins!
3.4 to 3.6 was a nice upgrade.
"It has a powerful, responsive, torque-happy engine that seems capable of outputting more (a wee bit, at least) than its stated 320 bhp. I've praised the off-theline capabilities of Porsche's engines before, and the addition of VarioCam Plus to the C2 increases said praise twofold. I've also sang paeans to the engines' elasticity, and the 3.6 continues that song."
