Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I placed an order for set of 997 turbo style wheels for my 996C2. I live in Finland and the market for 996 wheels is almost non existent here. So I had to order from U.K, shop called 911design.co.uk. The ad said that the rear wheels are 10 x 18 ET 65 wich is tock for 996 C2. However, after placing my order I received an e-mail sayng that the rears are 10 x 18 ET 50 and that they will fit my car ok. The question is will they fit? 15mm more out than stock. Will they look funny?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is the rim in question.

POST 3Original post

50 ET on a NB will be about 1/4" PAST the fender edge. I have GT3 reps in 18x10 ET52 that sit barely flush with fender. I rolled the lip and they dont rub with 285/18s. Steve

POST 4Original post

I suggest getting something in writing from the seller stating that they will reimburse you for cost of fender rolling, should the tires rub. For comparison, a stock 6GT3 mk 2 rear wheel is 18" x 11", 63mm offset (but the fenders are rolled from the factory). Here are some other narrow bodies with aggressive rear fitments: 1. 18x11, 55 2. 18x12, 64 3. 19x11.5, 62

POST 5Original post

And others, sorry about the selection of used language...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, they will fit. Good, I really like the design on 997 turbo style rims. Rear wheels coming out of the wheel arches just a bit looks fine. More than that looks horrible in my opinion. The whole different story might be the yearly inspection that our cars are required to pass here. Wheels are not allowed to come out of the arches.
