Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
Traded it for a brand new window AC unit that turned out to be broken!
Leading evidence: 'broken' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). I haven't been on a Shimano drivetrain in a decade or so but the other day, I installed XT Di2 on the ASR.

Can confirm from testing *in Mexico* that it holds up just fine at 100+ mph
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This forum needs a thread on bikes and 996's. Here is mine. The 996.1 is not my full time trailhead rig (I have trucks for that), but it is capable.
Any other bikers here?
Have always had custom / hidden receivers on all my sports cars. Can't stand the whistle / noise of roof racks. On my 996 i bolted a receiver behind the plate, then put the plate on spring hinges so everything was hidden when not in use.
Have been doing this for years with zero issues. One and two bikes. Road bike and gravel bikes. Seasucker has been a great and reliable solution with a bonus of people staring with open mouths and not riding my behind thinking they would fly off
Very cool! I've toyed with the idea of getting a Seasucker rack for my mountain and gravel bikes. Are the bikes difficult to load with these racks? I'm tall, so I should not have a problem reaching. However, the thought of bouncing the bare front fork off the car's roof while loading/unloading the bike worries me.
I dont have a picture with my own bike on top but heres my 996 when I brought the kids bikes for a family stroll in Montreal. My wife and I rented city bikes (BIXI).
HW are Thule roof rack and bike mounts with ArtnD risers in the rear (to make rear sit flush with front like the tequipment racks)
It hasn't been an issue for me. I'm about 5'10" and when mounting the bike, I rest the rear tire on the rear mount and just slide in the thru axle or skewer through the mount and the fork. Bikes are so light these days I can hold the fork with one hand and insert the axle/skewer. I know a MTB might be a bit heavier but I think you can still do it if you have reasonable upper body strength, which I know can be rare for a cyclist
No pics on Porsche.but my first ebike. What a blast these things are. Still have analogue bikes, but at 60, it helps me keep the speed on single track that is so addictive. 😎
I also have the tow hitch behind the license plate. My bike rack carries bikes, son's wheelchair and mom's walker shown here before we head off to LRP.
I bought the Seasucker setup, had it for 2 years and never used it. Traded it for a brand new window AC unit that turned out to be broken! Boy, did I lose on that deal......
Either the places I take my mtb are not very secure to leave my car or the locals give me crap because 'your bike is supposed to cost more than the car 'ideaology. All my road riding is from my house so I'm lucky there.

Speaking of bikes, I just picked this up a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner rode it a couple of times then went back to her other ASR. It's still a work in progress. Yesterday, installed new stem and handlebar (Enve M6). Waiting for a new wheelset and XT Di2 to complete the build.

Nope, totally different companies. Yeti Cycles has been around since the late 80s/early 90s, founded in Durango Co and moved to Boulder before landing in Golden. Yeti Holdings (coolers, etc) only since 2006 and in Austin, TX.

I've always been a big fan of Yakima gear. My 996 has the Porsche transport system and it appears yours does too. Any issues with making the PTS work with Yakima?
I haven't been on a Shimano drivetrain in a decade or so but the other day, I installed XT Di2 on the ASR. It's been pretty good so far (all my other bikes are T-Type AXS). The Shimano shifter is definitely better than the SRAM AXS Controllers.

Haha... One day I'll drive the 996 to Boise from Atlanta. I have a different little sports car here in Boise that I need to sell one day since I never drive it. But that's for a different forum
