Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I have the factory Litronoics in my 996 but have been tempted to fit one of those kits in my old SAAB but I don't think you really get the advantages because you are still using the old lens designed for a Halogen light.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

not my car, just sharing info............

POST 6Original post

Good find, Maci. I'm tempted... but a little nervous about taxing the original wiring harness... or wondering if that'll create more heat in the light housing... Are these real concerns, or just my own keep-it-original-paranoia?

POST 7Original post

if anybodies interested i've got a set of OEM litronics for sale http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/a...ics-tails.html

Agreed. Typically HIDs in non-HID housing = unfocused and glare extraordinaire. YMMV

+1 from looking at a turbo 996 halogen headlight which i use to have and xenon which i currently have ..........the difference is the ballast unit that goes behind the headlight and of course the bulbs otherwise they are identical...so i assume a 99-01 headlight has the same concept....

POST 11Original post

I did this write up. Thanks Maci911 for getting it linked. I done this mod about a month ago and I haven't had any issues / problems with the installation or excessive heat. I have a BMW X5 that has the litronics in it. When I compare the two side by side, the intensity is about the same. I think the conversion is actually brighter, but that could be due to age of the litronics. Not sure. Hobbes
