Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yeah, I remember hearing that same thing on 12-12-07 after Phil replaced his sulfated battery.

i've received so many emails lately all of them ask one or more simple questions about the car, then, they come back next email letting me know the cashier's check will be forwarded, it will be for ten grand over my price, i'll simply need to refund their money, it's gotten very tiring.

Tim might be his only hope IF Tim is still willing to take it off his hands and run the RISK !
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As most of you know, I am searching for a 996. I located a 40th anniversary on Auto Trader and sent message to the owner. It has 20k miles and asking $50k.
I feel that the price is high but I figured I would send this message:
"Is this your current price?"
This persons wacky answer:
"yes it is my current price, ******* scam artist who will be going to hell soon, good luck with that, k?"
All I can say is WOW!!!!!

I sent him one too... but told him he blew off a "real buyer" and his car was being discussed all over the Porsche forums...
G/L with the your purchase
I agree with you. My starting point for offers has been low to mid $30k's.
I have had two dealers tell me that I am correct with my assumptions but they have too much money sunk into their specific cars.
just got this response from the guy:
"sorry bout that, sincerely. i've received so many emails lately all of them ask one or more simple questions about the car, then, they come back next email letting me know the cashier's check will be forwarded, it will be for ten grand over my price, i'll simply need to refund their money, it's gotten very tiring. in any case, sorry about that. as to the price, yes, 49000 is the lowest price i would let it go for, the car is mint."
I still feel that $49k is way too high. Thoughts?
I told him that my starting point is low to mid $30's. If he says he is game, then I will go to the next step. Getting photos, history, etc....then make an official offer.
Reggie (liveNupe) has been trying to sell his 40th (beautiful example) for $36k with 40k miles. He has not been able to move it. I am using that as the best benchmark/real world example I can find.
Yeah...like that woman in the Hong Kong airport?
Yes, but seriously also more scammers.
I almost bid on a Eurovan on eBay that was a "Buy Now" scam, probably trying to do the deal outside eBay?
I had asked the selller a question and eBay responded, ha.
The same car was also listed on Craigs List so that was my first clue.....
At this point if he just put it on the market and wants $50K I wouldn't go to him saying my entry point is low 30's and expect to hear back anything positive. Unfortunately for him he will learn what the market will bare. At some point he will need to either lower the price so something reasonable or take it off the market.

I did get an email back from the owner. Turns out he is a really nice guy. he has been flooded with bogus questions etc for the car. He wants to stick with the $49k price. He was not aware that the market is so soft for these cars and is considering keeping the car.
Phil, I'll buy it!
$100 down and $10 a week until my unemployment benefits run out! When I get a real job, then I'll pay you the remaining balance. Trust me, I will!
< Tim thinks to himself > Man, if I get my hands on Phil's car, that beauty will have 10,000 mikes on it by the end of May. I have to make sure I don't let Phil know about that part of the deal.
Tim, if you buy it, you can put 10,000 miles a week on it. But at $100 down and $10/week, we're looking at around 95 years. Hmmm, but if I charge only around 2.9% interest, we might be able to talk. I figure even you can't be on unemployment that long!
I'd move to Scottsdale or Charleston in a heartbeat. But my wife and kids are homies - Philly through and through. They'll never leave. Me - I'm not going to be warm until May. Car's coming out of storage in early April though. Since I've lost most of my life savings already (and didn't even invest with Madoff), what the hell - I'm gonna drive EVERY car I can get my hands on (including the Porsche)!! Yeah, I know you don't believe me, but the world has shifted under my feet.
Yeah guys, I'll believe it when I see it, too!
BTW, I just took delivery of my wife's BMW 328xi today - it's a pretty nice car. She works her *** off and deserves it!
Yeah, I remember hearing that same thing on 12-12-07 after Phil replaced his sulfated battery. You don't believe me? Read the last paragraph (PPS: ) in this post.
Phil's Promise to actually drive his car
Prove us wrong this year, Phil!
<== this emoticon is just perfect!
I don't believe Phil anymore. I've tried hard to get him to drive and he just can't bring himself to do it. It just makes me sad that I've failed so miserably to get him to do the right thing.
Awww. Sorry to make you cry Wayne. I seem to have that effect on people. But, of course the car's not coming out this weekend with snow/sleet on the way. But, I'm very eager to get it out of my off-site storage and
back into my garage!
. Wayne, stop crying
I'm all choked up...dead cats, crying men, cars with 3500 miles that are OLD (
) and every time I refresh the thead that says "wacky people" Phil has the last reply
we need to convince him NOT to drive now... the car is POST DRIVE CONDITION and driving it will have some horrible consequences. AT this point his best option is get as far away from it as possible to avoid being hurt in the even someone actually starts it....
Tim might be his only hope IF Tim is still willing to take it off his hands and run the RISK ! What a sacrifice that would be for his old friend
You'd better. I'm up for the Bucks County drive again this year (if one is planned)! You smiled the whole time last year on that run.
I just shed a couple of tears when the front of my car was splattered with bugs.
