Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Gents,
I have to get the 03 Targa's Brakes (Fr.RR) complete package (Rotors/Pads/Sensors/etc) - Paul Miller Porsche is asking for $2700.00 complete... Does this sound a bit on the high side? If so, what are my other options? Thank you all in advance.
beautiful car, I love the pic you added....
Options... DIY, call suncoast or sunset for parts, then its just labor, get help from a fellow RL member near you and buy them dinner & drinks for the help....(if you need help) Find an Indy in your area, Get a second quote, Drive w/o brakes
all I can think of.
GL with the searching....
What types of rotors/pads are you getting? $2700 might be a bit on the high side for OEM parts, but might be right for high performance parts. IIRC, the Targa is a widebody, right? So:
Front OEM rotors are around $400 per set ($400)
Rear OEM rotors are around $300 per set. ($300)
Front OEM pads ~$200. ($200)
Rear OEM pads ~$150. ($150)
Fluid ~$50. ($50)
Shims are $20 per wheel in the front, and $50 in the rear ($140)
Sensors are $25 each - and you usually don't need 4 - only 1 or 2 ($100 max)
Caliper bolts 3.50 each X 8 = ~$30 ($30)
[or caliper kits $40 for front, $20 rear = $120]
Labor is probably around 2-3 hours for a full pad/rotor/brake flush @ $100 hour (?) so maybe $300. ($300)
Parts Total
: 400 + 300 + 200 + 150 + 50 + 140 + 100 + 30 =
~$1370
[or $1460 if you use caliper kits]
Labor total:
~$300
.
Total: ~$1670
So you are looking at about a $1000 premium (aka overpricing).
If you do it yourself, you are looking at less than $1500 all in, except for your time (and assuming you have the tools). Speaking of which, you can buy a set of caliper hex heads for $5.00 so you don't need to buy other random ones you won't ever use. [parts are cheaper for narrow body cars, BTW]
Well, that's my take on it anyway! lol.

If you do it yourself you can probably reuse the shims/vibration dampeners.
Also, if you DIY you don't need the sensors, just zip tie them up. then just pay attention to your pad thickness.
