Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have used the 303 color dye to restore the "new" look to the top and it looked quite nice, but when I used the 303 waterproofing it tended to mottle the look of the top.
Leading evidence: 'Use 303 color dye' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean (water' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I also used a foam brush to do the edges and put extra amounts on seams and areas showing folding.

I used a good marine-quality waterproofing, Starbrite, that lasts longer than that on boats where the conditions are harsher.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What waterproofing have you used and how long has it lasted before ceasing to bead and thus require re-application? After reading some general advice to reapply it every 5-6 car washes, that seems excessive if you use a good quality waterproofing. I used a good marine-quality waterproofing, Starbrite, that lasts longer than that on boats where the conditions are harsher.
On another note, from what is published on the internet, you would think tops are going to decompose within a small number of washes if you actually wash them. If you wash them occasionally with a soap that is formulated to be mild enough to not strip the wax off the car, is that really going to destroy the top?
Im guessing the material of Porsche tops isnt much different than any other convertible top. I used to take my Corvette through the car wash and all sorts of other things with no ill effects. From casual observation of cars on the road I would bet that sun is the biggest killer. For cars that arent garaged or are out all day for years the fabric slowly degrades until it eventually has weak spot that tears. Anything that provides some UV protection is probably good.
On my car I dont really ever put the top up except if caught in an emergency rain situation or occasionally when washing the car. About half the time I dont even have the top up when I wash it, just careful with the spray as to not get water inside.
I have used the 303 color dye to restore the "new" look to the top and it looked quite nice, but when I used the 303 waterproofing it tended to mottle the look of the top. After getting caught out in a few good rains that mottling went away. I never wash the top now and instead use a vacuum cleaner with one of those stair attachments on it to vacuum the top when up (or down). It always amazes me how much dust gets into the top and how much better it looks after vacuuming.
I don't wash the top when I wash the car but also keep the car inside so the sun doesn't eat it. I also don't drive it in the rain, or at least try not to as I will occasionally get caught in it but could count on one hand the amount of times that has happened.
I use Protex canvas restorer and protectant. It goes on with a paint brush so it's easier to control than the Ragtopp spray can. It made my top look so good that the Porsche dealer thought I had bought a new top. Here's a link to a video from Protex. They are based in the UK, but you can find it lots places here.

I avoided any of the sprays, too. A roller worked OK but not great, and definitely not as well as expected in terms of simple rolling coverage. A big brush might have been just as efficient. I also used a foam brush to do the edges and put extra amounts on seams and areas showing folding.
