Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2003 996 Triptronic Cab. I'm installing a PCCM+ clone from Aliexpress, and want to get at the final screw to remove the lower centre frame, where the climate control will be moved to. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the carpeted passenger footwell panel, which covers the last screw. I've tried pulling to the point that I'm concerned I may break something. Am I just not yanking with enough conviction, or is there some other method? TIA

POST 2Original post

The subwoofer has two screws. One forward near the floormat, and the other is at the rear just under some console carpet.

Interesting. I'll look for those in the morning and report back. Definitely would explain why I can't yank it off. Thank you! 🙏

Yeah, it is a super stiff piece of carpeting. I thought I was looking in the wrong place until I finally found a picture like the one in this thread. You really have to use force to gently pop that section outward.

Worked like a charm, Thank you! I actually had no idea that there's a subwoofer there. Now I'm wondering if I should leave it connected to the MOST amp, or connect it directly to my new head unit... I'll probably try both. Thanks again!
