Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My Porsche engine mount experience is limited to having the front mount on my '02 Boxster replaced -- exact mileage escapes me but roughly at 100,000 miles (vehicle has just under 196,000 miles on it now) -- when the rubber portion developed a crack.

Suggestion
Whether dealer offers to replace mounts under some warranty coverage or gives you some goodwill towards the replacement cost (half price?) the mounts need to be replaced.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had a new motor installed about 2 months ago. I have the car in for something very minor and they tell me I need new motor mounts...????
Shouldn't they cover this under my new motor warranty? They want to charge me for it.
Thanks
Needing new motor mounts (heck even one) after engine replacement is suspicious, in my book.
One time put in engine I rebuilt (Dodge truck not Porsche) and had to fight to get engine onto motor mounts. Some prying was involved.
Some time later when pulling into drive at work felt something 'give' and when I checked under hood noticed engine out of place a bit...
Motor mount where the rubber block attaches to mount gave way. Probably because I put it under some kind of stress in installing the engine.

No untoward symptoms before replacement and no real change/improvement afterwards. (Mech. found crack when I had car in for some other service.)
But mount was cracked. I had it here in office here at work for a while then had to clean up some and decided to discard it.
Whether dealer offers to replace mounts under some warranty coverage or gives you some goodwill towards the replacement cost (half price?) the mounts need to be replaced. Excessive movement of engine can see more serious troubles arise.
Sincerely,
Macster.
The mounts aren't a warranty item to my knowledge, but if they just installed the motor, those mounts had to be inspected at that time. If they gave shortly after the new motor went in, you at least have a case that they should have done them when they dropped the new motor in, and they should cough up the labor.
