I hesitate to blame all of it on the Proxes tires, since some of the problem was undoubtedly the alignment.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

.. what a difference! My 02 C2 had a set of Proxes T1Rs with some bizarre wear patterns on them after only 7K miles. The car was "jouncy", harsh and just didn't seem right. Turns out my alignment was off and my right rear tire was severely worn on the inside. Ordered a set of PS2s from tirerack and had them installed and an alignment done at Redmond European. Now the car drives great! Jouncing and jostling is gone. Steering response is smoother and more linear. Road noise is down. Huge improvement. I only have a few miles on the car since the big change , but I'm extremely happy with it right now.

POST 2Original post

Did you do an alignment when you bought the Proxes?

No. I bought the car with the Proxes T1Rs on it. The tires only had ~3K miles on them when I bought the car, so no strange wear was apparent. The alignment must have been messed up at that time, though. Even before the severe wear showed up on the left rear tire, the car was a bit rough. I didn't know any better, though, since it was my first Porsche. I hesitate to blame all of it on the Proxes tires, since some of the problem was undoubtedly the alignment. The new setup is much better than before, though, and I seriously doubt I'll buy the Toyos again.
