Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just installed the 997 shift console upgrade ( http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...ct_Code=997SCU ) for my 996 but I actually found that the shifter tilts to the left in the neutral position. When I looked at my old 996 shifter, I noticed that the metal shifter bar is bent so that's probably how the shifter sits upright. Anyone have any comments or noticed this as well?

POST 2Original post

I have this and didnt notice that.. I will check next time I drive the car (Thursday) as I am waiting for an alignment and cant drive till its done how do you like the shifter? it took me a couple days to figure out I liked it. The change was noticable, but I wasnt sure i liked it as I had grown used to the old sloppy one. Once I figured out what was differant I loved (and still love) it

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is a photo of the shifter slightly off center. I have attached one picture of me holding the shifter so that it is upright.

POST 4Original post

when you are not touching it is it aligned with the 1-2 position or the 3-4? in other words w/o touching it, if you simply pushed it straight forward or back, which gear would it hit w/o any side force?

POST 5Original post

that's an interesting modification.... in what way is the 997 console better?

POST 6Original post

Slight shorter throw, smoother, more precise. And you get to say, "I have a 997 shifter"

POST 7Original post

vs... the stock unmodified shifter right? I wonder how it compares to a 996 with SSK in terms of throw... is it close or is the 996 sport shifter still noticealy shorter...
